Jonathan DesRosier, 29, a former assistant football coach at Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, Connecticut has been sentenced to 46 months in prison on federal child sex charges.

Beginning in September in 2007 DesRosier engaged in explicit online chats with a Milford, Connecticut police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl.

DesRosier was arrested Nov. 16 when he showed up for an arranged meeting with the fictitious girl at a Milford Bowling Alley. Prosecutors said that Desrosier also had planned a meeting with a Naugatuck police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl and that Desrosier also was having ongoing explicit online communications with a 17-year-old

In October DesRosier pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to use an interstate facility to transmit information to a minor.

DesRosier faced up to 57 months in prison after agreeing to the plea deal in October.

In addition to his prison time, DesRosiers will be required to serve 8 years of supervised release and to registration as a sex offender.
