John “Jack” Donovan, Jr., 61, the former head football coach at Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Massachusetts has pleaded guilty to child rape, unnatural acts with a child, and indecent assault and battery on a young female relative.
Donovan was charged in 2003 when the then 13-year-old told a friend and her mother than Donovan had been sexually abusing her for three years. Following his arrest Donovan was fired by the school system.
As a result of his guilty plea, Donovan was sentenced to three years in prison.
In addition to the prison time Donovan will be on probation for two years. While on probation he will be required to undergo sex offender and alcohol treatment, he will be prohibited from being near the victim and will be required to wear a GPS.
Donovan will also have to register as a sex offender.
