Jodi Church, a former special education teacher at Manual High School, in Peoria, Illinois accused of trying to persuade a Manual High School student to having sex will go to trial in federal court on November 5th.

Church is accused of using MySpace to solicit a sixteen-year-old Manual High School male student.
Church’s lawyer in May submitted an insanity defense to the court without objection from the prosecution. A court ordered mental evaluation of Church has been completed.
Church in addition to facing federal charges also faces state charges for having sex with a Manual High School male student.
Church resigned from the school in May of this year.
8/17/07 - Guilty Plea
Jodi Church has pleaded guilty to a charge of online enticement of a minor for sex.
Sentencing is set for November 30th and Church reportedly faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
2/21/08 - Sentencing
Today Jodi Church was sentenced to 7 years prison for online enticement of a minor for sex.
On Monday she faces additional charges alleging a sexual relationship with a different student.
The Journal Star report referenced below provides an explanation for Church’s 7 year sentence in light of the 10 year minimum sentence normally associated with the offense.
2/25/08 - Second Plea and Sentence
Today Jodi Church pleaded guilty to state charges for having sex with a Manual High School male student. As a result of her guilty plea Church was sentenced to 4.5-year to be served concurrently with a 7-year federal sentence she was given earlier.

I wonder why so many people like to comment stuff. Why is this kind of spending your free time so popular? Maybe people have a lack of communication in real world? Maybe that’s because they have a lot of problems in reality and want to run away from them? Maybe they need new impressions and experience? Or they just got suck here? I don’t have a clue. What do you all think?

Looks like judge with a little common sensne, pushed by the feds of course. Hopefully, those 7 yrs in prison will make think twice about messing with a young boy.
