Jessica Ashley Kahal, 22, a music teacher and band director at Helix High School, in La Mesa, California has been arrested on allegations of having sex with a 17-year-old student.
La Mesa Police indicate that Kahal, accompanied by a lawyer, turned herself in this morning and was booked into Las Colinas Detention Facility on two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Reportedly Kahal was being held on $20,000 bail.
Reportedly the school principal was informed earlier this month that Kahal was having sex with a male student of the school. The student was reportedly interviewed by the school’s resource officer and revealed that he and Kahal had sex about five times over the past two months at various locations in the county.
Reportedly Kahal who began working for the school in August resigned her position with the school on October 5th.

10/17/07 - Arraignment
Jessica Ashley Kahal, was arraigned today in an El Cajon court on two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Kahal, who pleaded not guilty, faces up to six years in prison if convicted.
Kahal is currently free on $20,000 bail.
12/06/07 - Guilty Plea
Today Jessica Ashley Kahal pleaded guilty in El Cajon Superior Court to a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor at least three years younger.
Sentencing is set for February 13th and Kahal faces up to one year in jail.
Judge Patricia K. Cookson permitted Kahal to remain free on $20,000 bail until sentencing.

Jessica Ashley Kahal has been sentenced to three years probation, ordered to perform 400 hours of volunteer work, get psychological counseling and avoid contact with anyone under 18.

I actually graduated Indiana U. with Miss Kahal last May ‘07. She had some type of self-esteem or attitude problem, especially towards me and other guys. What IS good news is that she was sentenced to probation, community service, and best of all…COUNSELING. This girl is in desparate need of help and this is a far better option for her than just sitting behind bars and emotionally rotting worse.

Yep, this was my teacher. This is the second time for me that a teacher has been arrested for sex with a student. Back to back years. I don’t see why teachers don’t read their contracts and stuff. Its really stupid. She was a bitch at times. But, I think she deserved this.

LOL! This was the student teacher for my high school orchestra in Indiana. She was such a bitch. Everyone has heard about this and we can’t believe anyone would sleep with her.
