A judge has overturned the guilty verdict handed down by a jury last August in the trial of Jerry Angus.

Judge Mark Fishburn has vacated the guilty verdicts against Angus on the basis that juror bullying occurred and that one or more jurors were bullied into changing their not guilty vote to guilty.

The defense attorney, prosecutor, and Judge Fishburn will be back in court on Thursday for a status conference, at which time the defense attorney expects the judge to order Angus’ name removed from the Tennessee Sex Offenders registry.

Prosecutors could drop the case or decide to go to trial once again.

According to Jerry Angus attorney, Nashville Circuit Court Judge Mark Fishburn agreed to dismiss a majority of the charges after the assistant district attorney agreed not to pursue the case.

You’ll find bad-bad doctors, bad-bad parents, bad-bad clergymen, bad-bad policemen/women, and even a few bad-bad students. We live in a bad-bad world. Bad-bad people are all around us.

There is no way he is guilty. I have known this man for eleven years. He was my basketball coach and later I helped him coach a team. He coached girls sports for over twenty years and before this had never had charges against him. One of the girls who filed charges even admitted to making it up.
