Jeremy Todd Buchholz, 36, a former football coach turned math teacher at Temecula Valley High School, in Temecula, California has been charged with unlawful intercourse with a minor, sexual penetration with a foreign object and oral copulation with a child under 18 years old.
It is alleged that Buchholz had a sexual relationship with a then 16-year-old female student.
Buchholz came to the attention of authorities when school officials were told in September that he and the teen were in a relationship.
A subsequent investigation determined that Buchholz and the student, who is now 17, had allegedly been involved for about six months, dating back to last spring.
It is alleged that the girl told investigators that Buchholz touched her sexually while in his vehicle on the way from school to her house. She also said he touched her in the classroom and that she gave him oral sex in his vehicle after school and in the classroom before school hours.
It is further alleged that the girl told investigators that during summer break she had intercourse with Buchholz on two different occasions at his residence.
Buchholz was arrested on Thursday, booked into the Southwest Detention Center and was subsequently released on $25,000 bail.
02/14/09 – Court Appearance and Not Guilty Plea
Jeremy Todd Buchholz made an appearance in Riverside County Superior Court on Friday and entered a not guilty plea to all charges.
Buchholz’s next court date is March 17th for a felony settlement conference.
Buchholz remains free on $25,000 bail.
(08/21/09 – Preliminary Hearing
At the conclusion of a preliminary hearing the judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to order Jeremy Todd Buchholz to stand trial.
Buchholz is facing felony counts of unlawful intercourse with a minor at least three years younger, sexual penetration with a foreign object and oral copulation with someone under 18 years old.
Arraignment is set for September 4th.
10/19/09 – Trial Postponed, Hearing Set
A judge has postponed the trial of Jeremy Buchholz scheduled for tomorrow and instead scheduled a hearing on a motion to dismiss some of the charges.
Buchholz’s attorney has asked the judge to set aside, or dismiss, the two oral copulation counts.

This doesn’t surprise me. He always was a sexist pig. He flirted with all the girls and treated them better than the boys. He is a terrible person how could he do this to his wife and 2 kids. He is scum and so is the girl.

Holy Bajeezus!! i had mr B. for two semesters, one junior and one senior (2006-2007). he was definately one of the coolest teachers i had, mainly because he didnt give me a hard time about showing up late to class and would always joke about things that teachers dont normally joke about. like beer and pot…go figure haha but hey we didnt mind. im suprised and at the same time not suprised at all about this happening. he always did remind me of the “guy who graduates from highschool and still hangs out on the football field”…. see ya in the pin mr. B…i was even gonna go back and visit him…pshhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know Buccholz and the girl he got down with… and it’s 100% true. I’ve known this girl the entire time I attended TVHS; she was in one of my close circles of friends and would always hint at and tell stories of Buccholz and her flirting, him giving her rides, them kissing, etc. Not to say that I think Mr. B is a bad person, he certainly got his (Expletive deleted by site moderator) twisted, but he knew better. And his poor wife! I can’t even imagine what Karen thought when she heard this, as she worked at the school too. What amazes me is that the girl still goes to TVHS… I think I’d hide my head in the sand for a while.

Ok so I had Buchholz last year for geometry and he was an AMAZING teacher and he made class fun. He was very religious and would NEVER ever do anything like this, and plus that girl was sick nasty, and a complete liar who made this up because he failed her and her friends…not his fault you are dumb and couldn’t pass geometry…I refuse to believe lies like this and he deserves to be freed and that girl owes him a HUGE apology….stupid stupid girl who everyone hates now

This case is (********). Buchholz was my math teacher this year and i was switched out of his class when he was put on leave of absence. The girl that Buchholz supposedly had sex with has some sort of issue because i have heard of many ridiculous lies she has come up with in the past. She is an instigator and is looking for attention. I know for a fact that if i had been going through all of this my mom would have made me switch schools or get home schooling, but apparently this horrible abuse she was supposedly put through wasn’t bad enough because all the while Buchholz has been away she has been at school like nothing happened. Buchholz is a good guy who didnt give a (****) about anything other than his family and now his life is ruined. His reputation, his career, his name. Its ridiculous what girls will go to for attention now a days.

Its not that hard to notice that i hate all math. Numbers are not my thing. But Mr.B helped make geometry fun. He was a funny guy and a good family man that loved his kids. Yes he made a horrible choice, and he needs to accept the punishment.. But i can tell you that he isn’t too proud of himself right now. Please be praying for Mr.B. I know i will.

i completly believe the girl he was always looking at girls in a sexual manner. What did he expect would happen? giving only female students rides home and having then use hes car!…i mean come on.lol
This totally sadens my heart. I trusted Mr. B with my daughter, he was a mentor and coach to her and she still talks about him. Never was he in any way out of line with her. Now, she sees him in a different way. It is so sad. In her words “My heart Hurt” My heart hurts for the children and his wife. What makes a person step sooo far out of line.

Tina S, you simply do not get it. You miss the most critical part of the LAWS that are on the books to short-circuit just such a potential situation.
These laws charge the teacher with the responsibility to avoid the situation that would put him or her in a compromising position. Wiser people than us have formulated these laws knowing teenage girls do silly things for silly reasons. We charge the teacher with the obligation to avoid situations that could tempt either of the parties into doing foolish things.
Sexual assault and statutory rape do not happen in a vacuum; they are the terminal activity in an escalating pattern of boundary violations. Rarely is it one single indiscrete moment that leads to criminal conduct, but a calculated pattern of manipulation and persuasion that leads to devastatating outcomes.
Every teacher has an excellent idea about the consequences of his or her actions because teachers-in-training are taught about the laws that govern such behavior. Each and every time that a teacher engages a willing or not-so-willing victim in illegal conduct, he or she knows that a jail cell is but a phone call away. These are not innocent or accidental encouonters.
To imply that an otherwise noble teacher is snared by some guileful teenage Jezebel who knows how to break down the most stalwart libidinous defenses of some hapless male adult without the adult being able to defend himself is absurd. And, it is absurd because the penalties for such conduct are too drastic to believe that such encounters are accidental, unintended, or serendipitous. They are calculated acts played out over weeks, months, and years by fully cognizant adults who are stalking their prey.
Jail is not a serendipitous outcome. Teachers know this up front, going it. They get it.
All i have to say is that i had buchholz a few years back and this sickens me.
I heard about the allegations and truely did not want to believe them. He is and was
a great man and also an amazing teacher. I personally knew this girl because
she dated one of my friends, and its to be said that she should be held responsible
for this. She is seduces men and has strange sexual fetishs. Im sorry but she is
not normal, nor is she innocent in any matter. Obviously she had the intentions of
this to be pursued further if she hadn’t gotten caught. Why should she still be able
to attend TVHS, while buccholz does not. Sure, what they both did was wrong on many
counts, but thats the point, its what they both did. This action was not one sided and i
can not believe this girl gets away with ruining his life, just because she decided
to be distgustingly curious as to what a sexual realtionship would be like with a teacher.

If you wish to see “punish the victim” laws enacted, contact your elected representatives and ask that the law be changed.
