He is a very good guy, I met him from North Mesquite when he coached there. I Graduated 2008 and know him because he came to every Varsity Baseball game we had. Of course as everyone knows we are human, and one thing we all share in common is the FACT that we all make mistakes, although some bigger than others. Although on the flip side of it, some of us have consciences and some of us don’t. The man admitted it knowing he had done something wrong, proving he is not a terrible person without a conscience. It is completely unreasonable that they call it sexual assault, when both were willing to take part in the action. Beside the fact what were the parents doing when this “poor little fifteen year old girl” was out drinking and called Mr. McCoy in distress wanting a ride. Hello! Keep a better watch on your daughter and these things might not happen. Someone call Child Protective Services because their not doing their job, I mean, isn’t she a “child” or is it just the media that says that to make the story sound a little bit more juicy and “Sick”. He definately made a bad choice but I hate how people blow things out of proportion. Good Luck Coach McCoy.

Coach McCoy was the best coach a student could of had.i had him at North Mesquite.Honestly ppl make mistakes…..and obviously ppl don’t realize it.Yah he should be punished. But i mean, he felt guilty and turned himself in.He realized what ever he did was wrong.Jail time? I think thats over doing it.The student knew what she was doing as well…….think about it.

yes he should go to jail. he did whatever he did with a 15 year old girl even with consent he should know better, and people who have little girls feel the same way. his life may be ruined but its his fault he needs to deal with the consequences. he knew not to be poundin on little girls trying to get nothches in his belt.

I knew Jeremy from school and I agree he should have been smarter. I don’t think he should serve prison time over this it’s enough that his career is OVER!!! People don’t realize this will haunt him for the rest of his life if convicted he will be a registered sex offender for life.

I know Jeremy very well, and I hate to say it but we trust our kids in the teachers hands, not to go sleep with them but to protect them from the sickos in the world. Minor Girls do not care what is going on, and they will feed off of any attention they can get… But on the flip side of the coin Jeremy should have been smart enough to stay away from a student, he is an Educator not a College Kid anymore… He knew better, all teachers do.. Since he confessed and did it, he just wanted a piece of a**, and he got it, now his career is gone and will be known as the Teacher that slept with his student, well worth it…. On the news all the time, Wake up McCoy quite thinking with the head of your di*k and not common sense….

I know this man real well, great guy. You never know what is going on sometimes even being a close friend. I agree that he probably put himself in a situation that would raise huge questions. I hate that if a person is accused it could ruin all that they have worked for. If all of these people on here committed the crimes they are being accused of throw the book at them, also the students that are HS age should be held accountable as well. I am ot saying that the child is at fault however some of these kids know right from wrong as well. From what I understand about the female in question had other relationships with older men before, and I am waiting to see who else is drug through the mud!! Good Luck Big Boy McCoy!!!!

How can anybody defend this guy? Yeah it was probably consentual sex but he’s gotta be smarter than that. Even small-town coaches, with their cockiness & aura of invincibility, can’t get away with stuff like sex with a minor. Judging by what I know about his man-whorish ways from way back when, I’m pretty sure he knew that there was a 99.9999% chance that by picking up a drunk girl in distress that he would get some. And I guess a 0% chance that he would get caught. In a small town. Where word travels fast. And high school girls gossip. Anyways, I guess the only way to avoid this happening again is to do what all my coaches in high school used to say: put some ice on it.
