HE is a WEIRDO FREAK and should be punished for the crime or crimes that he commited. I think its time that stupid politicians worry about stupid (Deleted by site moderator) like “ROIDS” when they should be worried about who is teaching our kids and what the hell are they doing with them for the 8 hours a day 5 days a week min. Some kids stay long for sports or other programs. Its time that they make stricter punishments and stricter acces to jobs involving kids.

I wasn’t a student of Mr. Dennis’, but I was in his drama class every day before sixth period with his other students. He just kind of drew people in like that. He always seemed a little bit too close to the students, but I never suspected this. As far as I’d seen and heard, he’d never said anything to a student, but apparently I was wrong.

I really, really wish that this hadn’t happened, and even moreso I wish that I could just claim, “Oh, hey. No worries. He’s only human - we all make mistakes.” but with me more than likely knowing the person (or people, god forbid) that this happened to, I’m (Deleted by site moderator) at him, and I always will be.

I know that there hasn’t been any new information about this, but i would like to know why people are suddenly now posting comments again. there had been a long while when there hadn’t been any comments posted. what made them start now? No problem, just wandering. I would like to find out about where Jeremy is, and how he’s doing. i know that he did wrong, but i do know that he’s going through a very rough time right now and will be for a very long time.

Just to let you know this guy has always been creepy. He got introuble with sexual assault before when he was younger. It did not surprise me one bit when i found out, i feel sorry for those who are involved including his family and most of all the students.

Hey Anonymous, did you know Dennis?

You don’t have to answer, but I’m a little curious about your comments…It’s strange. I know Jeremy, and part of me wants to sympathize with him, the other part is full of anger for possibly destroying his students’ mental state…I guess you could say I just can’t take a side at this point. Some of my friends want to persuade me one way or another, but I want to formulate my own opinions on the case. However, it is becoming difficult to decide one way or another because I’m sure I could vouch in both directions somehow. You could also say I knew his fairly well.

By the way, people of his past, I still encourage you to contact the P.D.! I do believe he assualted his students, and I would assume that it would bring them great comfort to know there were other incidents.

The question was directed at Dominic, but I was mainly wondering if anyone knew anything. Sorry about the wording, I can (now) see how confusing it was!
And you’re very right about the information having time to die down and be lost. I know this situation really affected the community and the district he grew up and taught in, which is truly sad. Not to mention so many people in the community know him as a student, friend, or colleague. To save his own face, it’s almost good that this case isn’t splattered all over the news.
We’ll just have to see (or not see) what happens in the months and years to come.

Anonymous of July 23rd, 2008 at 12:12 pm, were you wondering if I knew anything or if Dominic knew something? Your phrasing was a little hard for me to understand.
But yes, you were right about the purpose of my message. The people coming out from his past who had similar experiances could help the case against him. I don’t want to take sides, however. At this point it is unhelpful for anyone to take a firm “side.” I’m sure this event has both hurt and shocked his students, fellow teachers, and the families of the students. No information has been released as of now I assume, and I really do think that is optimal in the long run. I mean, I doubt the names of the students he assualted will be released (and Mountain Range Dennis Student, perhaps you shouldn’t advertise that you knew “one of the girls” for your own sake and for the sake of the students involved in the case), but at the same time it, may be best for the public to have time to forget about the case.

Now, his former students will more than likely always wonder in the back of their heads “what ever happened to Jeremy Dennis?,” but as long as names aren’t assumed and rumours aren’t started, even his former students will simmer down and forget the entire incident.

    I hope.

But who am I to judge?

Dominic, I’m pretty sure Common Sense was not defending this guy. They were pointing out that it would be a good idea for people who have felt victimized by Dennis to speak out - it would strengthen the case against him. I think that’s a great idea. I used to know this guy, and trust me, I’m not on his “side” and I don’t think Common Sense is, either.

You seem to know some updates on this case, can you please inform us? I know I’m not the only one curious about that information.
