Jennifer Simard, 24, an on-call substitute teacher’s aide in the Goffstown School District, in Goffstown, New Hampshire has been indicted by a Hillsborough County grand jury, arrested and jailed on two counts of prohibited use of computer services.
It is alleged that Simard had sexually explicit online conversations with a boy who is younger than 16-years-old during the months of August and September.
The grand jury indictment also alleges that Simard discussed with the boy how he could keep his parents from finding out about them.
Reportedly Hillsborough County Attorney Marguerite Wageling yesterday dropped four similar counts filed against Simard after researching state law.
Simard will remain in jail until her arraignment Monday.
A school spokesperson said Simard had been told before the academic year started that her services were no longer needed and she was not allowed on school property.
09/29/08 – Arraignment
Jennifer Simard was arraigned this morning and bail was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
If Simard makes bail she is prohibited from using computers and from any contact minors.
It was revealed that prosecutors allege that Simard and the boy exchanged 16,000 text messages. It was also revealed that Simard’s husband alerted the boy’s parents of the alleged contacts between Simard and the boy.

What a stupid immature woman!!! No self control at all! Fall in love (?) with a 14 yo student, friend of both herself and her husband!!!! She didn’t want to grow up. Obviously she didn’t care of her husband, her family either her career: using friends as a lookout for sex, exchanging thousand of txts messages… She got caught because she didn’t care anybody but herself, neither her family, neither the student neither his parents. She left the parents a note, saying she would stay away from the boy but continued the affair. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid woman!
I feel terrible about the husband. Thanks god they have not children. May he meet a gorgeous, smart, loving, woman and marry her and have a long and happy marriage.
She must be charged with all the underage-sex stuff and all the teacher/student stuff.
She have lost everything, marriage, career, self respect…
Now she will not get jail time, but will work in a bar or like a waitress, as a sex offender for life.

First off. What is wrong with being a waitress or working in a bar. I’ll bet I make more $$ in one year as a waiter/bartender than most teachers!! Just so you know..I have a college degree in the medical field, as well as multiple certifications.(didn’t want you to think I was “too stupid to get anything better.” I chose the career that best suits my life and family! and I LOVE MY JOB AS A WAITER!) Why are you insinuating that people who work in bars or wait tables for a living are all criminals or are from a lower part of the food chain?! Now thats an excellent example of small minded!
Was what happened wrong? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Was the 14 y/o boy a completely and totally innocent victim? I doubt it. Not unless his parents kept him locked in a room with nothing to watch or read. As one person said. This young boy is now an icon in his school because he had some form of a “relationship” with the hot young teacher. Again I am not saying what happened was justifiable, because its not. She’s the adult and should’ve taken control and acted as a teacher/adult should. You said “she didn’t want to grow up”. Well now she has no choice. But please stop trashing professions that you personally don’t deem “good enough”. I’m willing to bet you couldn’t do my job for a week!
I’m not trashing any profession. Absolutely nothing wrong with being a waitress or working in a bar, or whatever respected job whatever field you can imagine. Actually I worked in bars for years. It is not, as you stated, “from the lower part of the food chain”, believe me. You misinterpreted my words, I hope without meaning to, perhaps I did not verbalize well. I just can presume teaching was her choose, her world, her dream.
This case is full of non-stop bad choices from a inmature human being who can lose everything he had once. You are wright, now she has no choice but grow up (and learn about morals too), sad it’s because such a tragedy. I get pissed off with such a waste of a promising future from a young one.
Anyway my heart goes to her family, especially her ex, the student family and the student (yes, after the outcome he is not feeling well, I promise you the “icon among his peers” thing, if true, is going to fall away).
You should STOP blame a 14 yo teenager with ranging hormones for do what we all can expect from him in his impulsive nature.
You can’t believe me, but I hope she can piece together and doing well from now on.

I went to highschool with both the suspect and her husband. They were highschool sweethearts. Just weeks before the news broke I sat a table at my best friends wedding with them. I suspected nothing. I was shocked and distrurbed that someone I knew was so disgusting. I have heard thru friends of the boys football coach that the boy is thought of as some kinda stud. What is the youth coming to?? I hope these parents starting teaching some morals!!!
Nasty! I went to School with Jen and I must say I’m shocked!!! Who does that?! I feel bad for Jens husband and The parents of this CHILD. If I were the kids parents I would press charges against her…. thats so wrong on so many levels!
well it was a rumor but we all kinda knew it wouldn’t be after a while! it’s not that hard to figure out, she was relly pritty, and he is jacked! so why the heck not? well maybe the age could tell you why not, sorry i feel that jen should not be the only one getting punished. the boy thinks he “loved” her. talk to him what can you do? but love the cutie back!?!??!

I go to that school too, and its shocking but the kids arnt surprised it was a rumor like all last year haha and all the guys think she is wicked hot cause she wears like Hollister clothes and stuff. What a creep though who would have thought that the first big case of sexual abuse towards a child from goffstown would be from a women im surprised it wasn’t a few other male teachers. Jakes guy friends probably think hes the man cause he made it with a teacher hes like their hero.

Surely they had unlimited texting, but then some people aren’t very smart. Like this women, she left a paper trail miles long. I also think some hands on action happened, 16000 texts and no touching is hard to believe.
I hope they had unlimited texting on their cell plan. At ten cents a pop that’s a lot of money. Maybe that’s how he found out?
