Webmaster’s comment:
Kira, you might want to take a quick look at a dictionary, such as Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary where one will find:
sodomy
One entry found.

This one’s not worth commenting on.

But wait, it gets better. An opinion of hers from the same site in 11/2007:
‘Consider consequences
I have to admit that I was one of those parents who freaked out when I heard they were planning to give birth control pills to sixth- grade girls in Maine. I nodded in agreement when the commentator stated that providing protection to these young people was like giving them permission to have sex.
But as I started switching through the channels, what I saw made me change my mind. Almost every channel had some reference to sex. Our young people are inundated with images of sex from television, movies, magazines, Internet, video games and the music they listen to. Our culture is much like a cruel parent who places their hungry child into a room filled with delicious food and demands they can look at it, smell it, but don’t even think about eating it.
From the time our children are old enough to ask, we give them everything else they see advertised on television – toys, breakfast cereals, Happy Meals – yet we advertise sex and tell them no.
I’m by no means advocating that we encourage our young people to engage in sexual behavior. Emotionally, they are not ready for it. I am suggesting that if we are going to be a culture that promotes sex, then we are going to have to be willing to face the consequences.
Shouldn’t young people be made aware of the harms that can accompany sexual behavior? The advertisements and entertainment neglect to talk about the possible dangers, like unwanted pregnancy, disease and emotional pain.
Perhaps those advocating protection aren’t the bad guys after all.

I could make all kinds of snarky comments, but I’d be here all day.
I will say that this story couldn’t write itself any better… LOL
What a hypocritical moron.
I guess the real question is whether or not she was teaching safe sex???
@jackyboy
Well my guess is yes and no. As in ‘was’ and now ‘isn’t’.
Note the name change Savage -> Liskey.
Also, she claims to be a mother of two daughters.
Here is a quote from her in an opinion she expressed about teaching in 2007:
‘ Solution for shortage
I was frustrated by the article Thursday about the need for more teachers. It stated low pay was one of the major contributors to our teacher shortage.
Would an increase in pay really draw in more teachers? I doubt it.
I would be ecstatic to be given the opportunity to teach.
Teaching is more of a calling than a career. I have felt this calling for years but have had to settle for other ways of helping students in the classroom, such as working as a paraprofessional or substitute teacher. With such a passion to teach it can be frustrating at times to merely stand on the sidelines.
Why am I not teaching? I only have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and am therefore not qualified to teach.
In order to teach in Kansas, I must return to college and earn a second degree in one of the much-needed subjects such as math or science. In addition, I must attend another year or two to become certified.
As a mother of two daughters, I don’t have the time or resources to do that right now. However, I refuse to give upon this dream. I recently joined the Army National Guard, which is helping me pay for college, and I am attending school part time.
I get tired of all the whining about teacher shortages when there are many out there, like me, who would make excellent teachers if just given the opportunity. I agree teachers should be qualified, but shouldn’t there be a quicker process for those of us who have degrees? I will be a teacher one day, but it is disheartening to think that by the time I get certified, several years will have passed during which our schools have been deprived of another teacher who truly wants to make a difference, not just a paycheck.

I like this part:
‘ I would be ecstatic to be given the opportunity to teach.

I guess her idea of helping students in the classroom differs from my idea of what we expect helping students in a classroom means.
