Jennifer Candida Gonzales, 32, a fifth and sixth-grade teacher for students with behavioral problems at Mount Nebo Junior High School in Payson, Utah has been arrested on allegations of sexual conduct with a 16-year-old and sexual relations with a youth.
Reportedly the alleged victim, a 16-year-old boy is not a student of Gonzales.
Gonzales came to the attention of authorities when she called Payson police and told them her husband pointed a 9mm handgun at her and the boy and threatened to kill her after he caught her cheating on him with the teen.
Richard Gonzales was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault with domestic violence, and criminal mischief.
Jennifer Gonzales was released from jail on $10,000 bail and has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school system.
According to jail records, Richard Gonzales remains jailed in lieu of $20,000 bond.
06/04/08 - Guilty Plea To Reduced Charges
Jennifer Gonzales has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted forcible sexual abuse, a third-degree felony.
While the crimes to which she pleaded guilty carry a punishment of up to 5 years in prison, Deputy County Attorney Mariane O’Bryant doubts Gonzales will serve any jail time.
Gonzales will be required to register as a sex offender.
Formal sentencing for Jennifer Gonzales is scheduled for July 28th.
06/14/08 - Richard Gonzales - Guilty Plea
Richard Gonzales has agreed to plead guilty to a class A misdemeanor of using or displaying a dangerous weapon in a fight if state prosecutors would drop a felony aggravated assault charge.
His sentencing is set for July 10th.
07/28/08 - Jennifer Gonzales Sentencing
Jennifer Gonzales has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.
She was also placed on to 36 months of probation and ordered to complete a sex offender treatment program.
Last month Richard Gonzales was reportedly sentenced to 18 months probation.

Wow. I went to that school in 2006. She was so strict. No one was allowed to talk about what happened when she was arrested.

How dumb do you have to be to call the police on your husband, didn’t she think she had done something wrong. Why are we paying her for paid leave for this. When just a few weeks ago a potery teacher in his class in SLC was busy helping some other kids in his class, some of the other kids who were to be cleaning up the floor, washed up a few tile as soon as he saw he stopped them and dispossed to the loose tiles, but he was fired because they said he did not do it right.

My foster son was one of her students. I am appalled at how she could do this. It has mentally and emotionally traumatized him, since he’s come from a home where sexual abuse was prevalent. Not only that, but now I am suspicious that maybe something could’ve happened w/ him in the classroom as well.
I feel sorry for her husband. If mine caught me cheating, I’d be insulted if he didn’t threaten me w/ a gun. He did nothing wrong, while her injuries go way beyond just the kid she was sleeping w/. My foster son came home w/ self-inflicted eraser burns up and down his arm, and I have no doubt that something is seriously hurting him inside. He is one of many special cases that she taught.

How stupid is she. To have kid at her home and oils and candles. The husband coming home early probably didn’t come to her mind. What a pathetic woman to be sleeping with a kid.
They let her out on 10K bail, while the husband’s bail was 20K. So sleeping with an underage kid is a lot less of crime than chasing your cheating wife and inderage kid with a gun. If I was on the jury, I would vote not guilty for him. Crime of passion for sure.
