Jeffrey Scott Holsclaw, 49, a drama teacher at Clewiston Middle School, in Clewiston, Florida has been arrested on charges of procuring prostitution of a minor, sex offenses on a victim between the ages of 12 to 15-years-old, and obscene communication on a computer to seduce or solicit a minor.
Holsclaw was reportedly arrested as the result of an undercover sex sting operated by the Clewiston Police Department in which a decoy posed as a 15-year-old girl online.
Allegedly Holsclaw told the decoy he wanted to “not rush the session” and engage in oral sex and agreed to pay $150. It is further alleged that Holsclaw then increased the amount to $250 so he wouldn’t have to wear a condom.
Reportedly Holsclaw has been arrested on prostitution charges previously while working as a teacher in Ohio although Holsclaw’s record there has been expunged.
It is also being reported that shortly after his arrest in Ohio, he resigned his job with the Bexley schools and sought a teaching license in Florida.
07/24/08 - New Details Released
The Clewiston PD set up the undercover sting via an ad on Craigslist. The ad was titled “Young and Ready to have some fun”.
Throughout the course of the communications between Holsclaw and the officers conducting the sting, the “15-year-old girl” indicated she was worried that Holsclaw was a cop.
Via a series of e-mail exchanges the sting is set up and when Holsclaw and the decoy meet up Holsclaw was arrested.
Holsclaw currently is charged with prostitution, sex offense against child, and using computer to seduce solicit a child.
