Jason Devlin Convicted

Jason Devlin, a 30-year-old, former social studies teacher and cross country coach at Montgomery County R-2 High School, in Montgomery County, Missouri has been convicted of one of three counts he faced alleging the sexual abuse of a then 14-year-old girl.

Devlin was charged with child molestation, statutory rape and statutory sodomy in a case from 2005 when Devlin was supposedly taking the 14-year-old to a football game but whom prosecutors charge Devlin took to his home for sex.

After a three day trial and five hours of deliberation the jury found Devlin guilty on the child molestation count and not guilty on the statutory rape and statutory sodomy counts.

Devlin’s 31-year-old Shannon Devlin, is charged with witness tampering. Prosecutors say she tried to convince the girl to recant her story. She is expected to go to trial in June.
