Jason Collins-Baker, 31, a teacher and boys’ track coach at Randall K. Cooper High School in Union, Kentucky has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sex with a student.
Collins-Baker is reportedly charged with two counts of first degree sexual abuse on allegations of a long term sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student who recently graduated.
The sheriff’s department said it appears none of the sexual activity beyond discreet communications took place on school grounds.
Reportedly, Collins-Baker teaches English, history and science and is also a special education teacher. On the school web site, he is listed as a special education teacher.
Collins-Baker was arrested at his home today and was reportedly being held in the Boone County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
01/05/10 – Guilty Plea
Reportedly, Jason Collins-Baker has entered a guilty plea to multiple counts of first-degree sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.
Sentencing is set for February 24th and Collins-Baker was remanded to the Boone County Jail to await sentencing.

People judge too quickly. He is a good man who was not taking advantage of a younger girl. In ky 17 is legal, so in that sense he wasn’t breaking the law. He was however breaking the law in regards to student teacher boundaries. I know this man and he is a good person who got caught in an unfortunate situation. There are life circumstances that have led him here and he is doing right by facing them and fixing them. This girl was in her senior yr when this took place and graduated so she was an adult in socities eyes. Not to mention her nor her mother pressured charges. You have to know every fact before you make a decision about a person.

As for Michelle’s comments, she is right on the money. I’m not sure to what degree a 17 year old girl can be called a “victim” in today’s world, but what this man did was HIGHLY against the law, but he was too horny to have resisted.

The student was black, she is 17 and was taken advantage of by a grown man. You sound like an idiot. This man has destroyed his career, his marriage-he is a father and should have known better. This is not a joke.
Was the girl white? If so, she just wanted to score with a good-looking black dude. Too bad she didn’t wait a year for her first black lover. Now the black dude is gonna get fried.
