James Rodney Lee, 27, a teacher at Rome High School in Rome, Georgia has been arrested and charged on allegations of the sexual abuse of a 16-year-old male student.
Lee is reportedly charged with aggravated sodomy, second degree cruelty to children, sexual assault against a person in custody, and sexual battery.
It is alleged that the sexual assault occurred on March 20 and reportedly involved inappropriate touching, although news media reports are not clear on the exact nature of the alleged offenses.
Lee, accompanied by an attorney, turned himself in to the Floyd County Jail on Friday afternoon.
Reportedly school officials have indicated that Lee will not be allowed back in the classroom when school resumes following Spring break.

James is a Christian man with nothing but a big heart. He’s my brother and I know that these charges are nothing but another “river that he must cross” in his growth as a Christian. He’s innocent and will continue to be one of my greatest friends even after our day of judgment. Believe whatever you may want to believe, but recognize your faults when things turn out different than what you expect.

Ok. What everyone seems to not understand is that this is the fourth teacher in our region (only 2 of which have been prosecuted) to have some sexual relation with a student. I don’t care how great of a teacher you are, how you treated your students, what the rumors are, etc.
If you stick your hands in a kids pants, no, if you do anything sexual that is not with consent to person and a minor especially, you deserve to be locked up. And after all is said and done that teacher is never coming back to the school either way.
So these rumors, petty arguments, etc., should all just die.
I mean seriously, at least it wasn’t you that got molested, don’t act like it was.
(Deleted by site moderator). he was a great teacher, and if he did do it,then he did it,and was a dumbass and got caught (WITH A MINOR WHICH WAS EVEN MORE STUPID) and if he didn’t do it then it really does suck but still his life will be ruined forever……

lets please remember that until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt, these are simply allegations and mr. lee remains INNOCENT.
