(11/14/07 – Initial BBT Report)

James Leonarczyk, a teacher’s aide at Phillipsburg Middle School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with the possession of child pornography.

Leonarczyk was arrested Friday after turning himself in to Hunterdon County authorities.

Following his arrest Leonarczyk was released without bail on his own recognizance and is currently charged with fourth-degree possession of child pornography.

Reportedly Leonarczyk came to the attention of authorities during an investigation of another computer user in Rhode Island. Investigators obtained a search warrant and allegedly found 50 child-pornography images while searching through two computers and 8 zip discs seized from Leonarczyk’s home.

08/01/08 – Grand Jury Indictment

A Hunterdon County grand jury has indicted James Leonarczyk on charges of second- and fourth-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The indictment alleges that Leonarczyk distributed child pornography between August 2006 and July 2007.

04/02/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

James Leonarczyk has reportedly pleaded guilty to second-degree endangering the welfare of a child charge.

As a result of his guilty plea, Leonarczyk has been sentenced to four years in state prison to be followed by lifetime parole supervision. He will also be required to submit to DNA analysis and must register under the terms of Megan’s Law.

Leonarczyk will serve his sentence at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel, New Jersey.
