James Carlile, 52, a music teacher at Carmen Dragon Elementary School in Antioch, California has been arrested on allegations that he downloaded from the Internet significant amounts of child pornography onto his work computer.
Carlile came to the attention of police when a school computer technician servicing Carlile’s work terminal, in response to a complaint from Carlile about computer problems, allegedly discovered that Carlile had been attempting to access web sites that contain child pornography.
A school spokesperson said Carlile was placed on administrative leave in mid-January following the discovery by the computer technician.
Reportedly, after Carlile was placed on leave, the school district had technicians examine his computer further, and contacted Antioch police on Feb. 3rd.
The police department’s forensic computer specialist allegedly discovered that Carlile’s computer contained pornographic images of children.
Police also say that the computer was password-protected and that Carlile was the only person who had access to it at the time the alleged child pornography was downloaded.
Carlile was arrested February 11th and was subsequently released on $10,000 bail.
Reportedly, Carlile remains on administrative leave from the school system.

Dude that guy was my teacher cant believe it he was like a nice guy and he did this. They should Send Him away Because he could harm students by the look on his face. Sick guy well he is a fat guy propably he eats kids
i go to carmen dragon and i stole is flute wel never gave it back there cuz he let me have it but thenn 1 time he was talkin hecka much and he that i was distracting other people then he said you want a refereal then i said no butt 1 time i said he was fat he were the same clothes every day but he change is shirt

This is crazy. He was my music teacher for 6 years! He was even my choir teacher, my brothers instruments teacher and my sister’s choir teacher. He has a family and children of his own, I remember him telling stories. He was charismatic, kind of hippieish but very funny and the best music class that we looked forward to as students every week.
I’m sad to know this about him because he seemed like someone who”d never hurt a fly. It goes to show you never really know what people are capable of.
