wow, you can soo tell that the good comments were either done by Iusmen’s family, friends or maybe a concerned teacher in disguise most likely so van nuys doesn’t look bad. and the “stfu lac” was done by an angry student. There for we can’t really trust either one of those comments
although i wasn’t one of his students, i have heard numerous amounts of his students talking about his sexual remarks, i nvr really believed it until more trustful people told me. On the other hand i have seen him during Calc camp we had before the AP tests, he seems like an honest man that isn’t a pedophile, but seriously we can’t just tell he is innocent by his looks and experience we had with the person. We often hear on the news when someone does something wrong such as murder, the neighbors always most likely says that ” oh “so and so” doesn’t seem like the type to do this, he/she was always a nice person and blah blah blah”.
So yeah, i guess we shouldn’t judge him till the trial goes though. BUT. i still wouldn’t want him as my teacher next year for calc BC because of these charges, it would make me uncomfortable along with many more students.

Thank you Lac. I completely agree with your statements. =)

To “Stfu Lac,” I recently had class with Iusmen for 2 years. He made very few, if any, sexual comments during class, and if so everyone knew that he was joking (as you mentioned). So yes, I DO know.
You already answered the question yourself as to why he “ruined your breaks:” to make you work harder. Iusmen wants to help you succeed, and if you’re planning on going to college, trust me, his problems and techniques help a lot.
But based on your comments, it appears as if you only care about the grade and not necessarily the education provided. So be grateful he gave you the A (or even the C). I highly doubt that people actually received those grades on his exams (not from the book).
And learn to type some proper English. It’s hard to take any of your arguments seriously when every other sentence has a “(Deleted by site admin).”

stfu u (Deleted by admin). u dont know mr iusmen now. i had iusmen for this past semester and he’s been making sexual comments the whole year. yes, it was a joke, yes he hits his students as a joke, but u dont know (Deleted by site admin).

iusmen ruined everyone’s winter break and spring break etc this whole year and pretty much ruined my whole year by giving me D’s and fails on the 5,10,15 week report cards, and then finally giving me an A on the 20 week. he does this nazi scare tactic to try to make us work harder.

what he doesnt realize is that he makes the parents (Deleted by site admin) concerned and makes the parents think we’re actually failing when we’re’ not. he just gives (Deleted by site admin) grades for the progress reports to make us actually suffer.

mr iusmen is a good math teacher, but his class is (Deleted by site admin). Lac, u must have known iusmen maybe 10 years ago, cuz he’s a new man now. he fails so many kids who dont deserve to be failed. In 8 semesters of math in high school, i got 7 A’s and 1 C. guess which class the C was from? and don’t say i dont work hard cuz u dont know me at all. mr iusmen barely got through the material for the ap test, makes up stupid stories, and hits his students with his hand like he’s still in europe or some (Deleted by site admin). i’m not surprised he got caught with this crime.

and u said its strange that the girl reported him at the end of the semester? why the (Deleted by site admin) is that strange? if i got kissed and wanted to report a crime i would do it at the end of the semester too, where the grade has already been turned in and iusmen can’t retaliate against the girl cuz the grade has been turned in already. GOd man use ur brain.

    Lac Says:

PLEASE with-hold any hasty assumptions and judgement, especially if you are going to spread rumors that might turn out to be false. Even if it may be true, people (AND the media) don’t see the circumstances or the context in which it happened. They just think, “Oh, he kissed a student, therefore, he is a bad bad teacher or a possible sex offender!”

Mr. Iusmen is European. He spent almost half his life over there before he moved with his wife to the U.S. Now imagine a man who is deeply entrenched in his European culture. Over there, it is natural for Europeans to greet each other with a hug or kiss. So, I wonder is the female student who brought the charges against him also European??? Did she mis-interpret his actions??? I find it odd that the charges were brought against him at the end of the school year and not during the school year. Why is that? If he did kiss her, was it just like a European friendly goodbye and good luck in the future???

Also, I wonder what grades she obtained in his class. The reason why I ask this is that when I was a student in Mr. Iusmen’s class (( Mr. Iusmen was my math teacher for 2 years)), some of my classmates and their parents complained to the principal because they received bad grades in his class and thought that they could “pressure” him into giving them better grades. Except their plan didn’t work. Mr. Iusmen is a very ethical teacher. He gives students the grades they deserve based on their hard work, exam results, and self-improvement. Toward the end of the first semester, a student’s father came to Mr. Iusmen and asked him to raise his daughter’s grade from a “D” to a “B” or better yet, an “A,” so that she could get into a good college. But Mr. Iusmen refused, b/c he believes that it would be unfair to the students who actually worked hard for the “A.” Mr. Iusmen was afraid that if he just gives everyone an “A,” how will good colleges distinguish the hard-working students from those who slacked off? I hope this story reveal a bit about Mr. Iusmen’s character.

Just a note: in the 2 years that I knew Mr. Iusmen, I never heard him make any sexual comments or behave inappropriately toward the students in class or during his office hours. Mr. Iusmen is the best math teacher I’ve ever had, better than my college math professors. He truly cares about his students’ education and future. Back in high school, he would hold after- school sessions to answer students’ questions ( he didn’t get paid to do that). Also, during winter break and summer, he would host daily math classes to give his students a CHANCE to improve their grades (he didn’t get paid for this either).

I am extremely sad that such a good teacher who is devoted to teaching for many years, now has a bad reputation.
