Darren Berg, 39, a math teacher and track coach at Sturgeon Bay High School in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Berg is expected to be charged with felony sexual contact with a student by a school staff person.
Berg came to the attention of authorities after students and parents told school staff members about a possible inappropriate relationship involving Berg and the alleged victim. School administrators reportedly conducted an investigation and allegedly observed Berg and the girl having conversations and sending text messages to each other. School administrators reported the matter to Sturgeon Bay Police.
During the course of their investigation police obtained copies of the text messages allegedly between Berg and the student. It is also alleged that during a one-week period, the student sent more than 40 messages to Berg and Berg sent almost 50 messages to the student. District Attorney Ray Pelrine indicated that the records of text messages between Berg and the student revealed the alleged inappropriate relationship.
