(Malaysia) Badrul Akmal Ishak, 30, a primary school teacher, has been charged with sodomising and having oral sex with a 14-year-old student at his house in August of last year. (South Africa) Dr Paul Potgieter the choirmaster of the renowned Drakensberg Boys’ Choir for three years and who also gave music lessons at the school pleaded guilty in the Protea Regional Court in Soweto and was found guilty on 44 charges, including sexual offences against underage male pupils. Potgieter was sentenced to 30 years in prison, of which he has to serve 10. Link
(Canada) Mark Baggio, the former teacher at F.J. Brennan school convicted of having sex with two female students and sentenced on January 8 to four years in a federal penitentiary has been released on bail by order of the Ontario Court of Appeal while his appeal is considered. The appellate court imposed a higher bail amount of $50,000. In the past, Baggio was free on a $20,000 surety. Link
