Harolyn Dean Branam, a former teacher at Jacksboro Middle School in Jacksboro, Tennessee has been indicated by a Campbell County grand jury on 10 counts alleging unlawful contact with seven female students.

The grand jury indicted Branam on three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, three counts of assault in connection with the three alleged sexual battery victims and four additional counts of assault stemming from four more alleged victims.
According to the grand jury indictment, Branam’s alleged victims include three 14-year-old girls, three 13-year-old girls, and one 12-year-old girl.
Reportedly all of the alleged incidents happened between February and March of this year.
Branam, who had reportedly been with the school system for over 30 years, was initially suspended by the school system and subsequently turned in his retirement notice on March 20.
He was arrested on March 27th and was subsequently released after posting $10,000 bond.
04/07/09 – Arraignment
Arraignment was held Monday for Harolyn Dean Branam at which time his attorney entered not guilty pleas on Branam’s behalf.
A September 9th trial date was set.
