03/03/09 – Preliminary Hearing
A preliminary hearing was held today for Gregory Ritter at which a 14-year-old boy testified that he and Ritter engaged in lewd acts in October when the boy stayed at Ritter’s home. The boy told that court that Ritter showed him photos of shirtless teens that Ritter had taken. The boy also said that Ritter showed him graphic images of Russian boys and that they then performed sex acts on each other.
The boy further testified that over Thanksgiving weekend in November, Ritter showed the boy pornographic videos while they were lying on the couch, the boy testified. He said Ritter sucked on the boy’s toes, they touched each other, and Ritter performed oral sex on the boy.
District Judge Jay R. Rose rule that there is sufficient evidence against Ritter to support charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, indecent assault, attempt to commit unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility.
Ritter remains free on $100,000 bail and is pending arraignment in Pike County Court.

Although i dont approve of what he did and what happened, I know Mr. Ritter is good at heart and just made a dumb mistake. he is the greatest teacher I’ve ever had and he is completely and utterly my hero, and that will never change, no matter what he’s done. Thats the impact Ritter had on my life. He’s a genius. His judgement just failed him, i believe. Ritter is a hero to hundreds and hundreds of Monagacci students, and i believe that his impact on their lives wont change their views on him. He’ll always be good in our eyes.
