Gina Marie Watring, a teacher’s assistant for dance and drama at Creekside Elementary School in Durham, North Carolina has been arrested on allegations of having sex with a male student, who is reportedly 10-years-old.
Gina Watring is reportedly charged with two counts of first degree sex offense with a child.
Watring, who turned herself in to investigators, is reportedly being held at the Durham County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Watring, who worked for the school system since November, 2006 reportedly resigned yesterday.
04/30/09 – Bond Reduction Denied
Gina Watring appeared for an initial appearance in court today and defense attorney Steve Monks asked that Watring’s bond be reduced from $100,000 to $20,000, saying that Watring is “a wonderful person” who has been married for 13 years and has three children.
The judge denied the bond reduction request.
Monks indicated that he was only representing Watring for the initial appearance and the judge appointed a public defender to represent Watring.
Watring’s next court date was set for May 13.

05/18/09 – Kidnapping Charges Added
Gina Watring, who is already already facing two counts of sexual offense with a student, has been indicted by a grand jury on two counts of first-degree kidnapping, felony child abduction.
07/06/09 – Gina Watring Arrested Again
Gina Marie Watring was arrested and jailed on Saturday on allegations that she was contacting the 10-year-old boy she is alleged to have raped.
In her latest arrest, Watring is reportedly charged with obstructing justice.
It is alleged that Watring gave the boy a cell phone, without his mother’s permission, and that Watring and the boy exchanged messages and photos along with handwritten notes between June 29 and July 3.
Reportedly, Watring’s latest arrest is the result of the boy’s mother allegedly discovering the cell phone while packing her son’s things for summer camp.
According to Assistant Durham County District Attorney Jan Paul, the boy reacted violently when his mother confronted him about the cell phone. He pulled a knife on his mother, jumped from a second-story window and tried to run off before the family was able to restrain him
Watring was free on $200,000 bond following her first arrest and under a no-contact order regarding the alleged victim.
Bail on Watring’s latest arrest was set at $100,000.
Today, Superior Court Judge Leon Stanback said he was troubled by the case and increased Watring’s bond on the initial charges to $2 million.
09/17/09 – Obstruction of Justice Charge Dropped
An obstruction of justice charge against Gina Marie Watring has been dropped after her attorney contended that the contact between Watring and the alleged victim was actually a violation of the terms of her bond and not a violation of statute.
Watring still faces charges of two counts of first-degree sexual offense with a child, two counts of first-degree kidnapping and felony child abduction.

Guru, once again, made the only intelligent comment. There are a lot of issues going on here. Why was a 10 year old allowed to go unsupervised with this woman? Why did he have a cell phone in which he could talk to anybody he liked unsupervised? Why did a 10 year old pull a knife on his mother?
I never jump to conclusions and condemn a person when all the evidence is “alleged.” It doesn’t look good for this woman, but I still want to hear all the facts before condemning her to life in prison.
Well, nuts. I thought 10 was too young to do anything. I hope Gina geta s full 45 years now. That would make her 85 or dead before she got out if she served the full term. Or heck even 15 years would do. She would go through menopause most likely and with the stress in prison would be more like about 70 in body age. Hope her husband divorces her and gets the children if any. This skank needs to be away from everyone.

This incident has caused serious damage to this child. Having a sexual relationship changes your views of how you interact with others. When your mind is not ready for that change, irrational reactions like this will take place.
It is often said on this site that young male teens involved in these acts with adults in authority figures aren’t effected by it. Those comments are generally wrong. It effects the youngster’s concept of right and wrong.
jackyboy ease up, lets see what the courts say, or if she pleads guilty. It’s just too farfetched to me that a boy that age could do anything with her. If it was a male teacher with a female child, yeah he could penetrate the child, but a boy that age with female teacher, nuh uh, can’t believe it man.
I mean , 10 YEARS OLD???? Intercourse??? If this was a man doing this he would never get out on bail and would get at least 20 years in prison. But Gina is a “Wonderful Mother” so like that absolves her of being a sick pedophile pig??? Her husband should dump her out of the car naked in the worst crime ridden neighborhood in Durham.

10 years old? I find it hard to beleive he has entered puberty. If he has and she did, what pleasure could she find in something that small. Maybe an inch and a half. That’s just too weird. Can’t beleive it.
There is no proof why she was arrested. This case could be nothing more than he word vs her word, and that is not a case. The members of her family are also victims.
This is just another Mary Kay Letourneau repeat. These OLD women need to stop messing up our little boys. They are preying on the weak and vulnerable to satisfy their own sick needs, and they need to be put under the jail. I now fear for my child’s safety in the Durham Public School System. All we can do is pray for our children and the ones who are licensed and mandated to teach them.

Ultra Sick Pig. I’m sure she has dozens of excuses, off her medication, abusive boyfriend, just “expressing herself”, etc. What they should do with her is put her in the stocks and let people throw garbage at her- no need for a trial.
