George A. Langlotz, 58, of Naperville, Illinois and a driver’s education teacher at Glenbard East High School in Lombard has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 17-year-old female student.
Police say Langlotz was tutoring the 17-year-old female who is a a student at Blenbard East High School and that the sexual conduct occurred at his Naperville home between October and May.
Langlotz who turned himself in to Naperville Police today was released on $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Will County Court on July 11 and police indicate additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
Landlotz is a 20-year employee of the school system and was placed on paid leave after being suspended May 31. He previously served as the school’s athletic director and taught physical education and science.
Update 7/07/07:
But students at Glenbard East said their driver’s education instructor is a bit odd.
“He kept giving me detention and stuff so I would stay after,” junior Jamie Schuning said. “And he kept calling my mom, trying to get me to stay after. And it kind of just creeped me out.”

Student Jonathan Light described some bizarre hallway behavior.
“I’ve seen him do some weird things like walking through halls and kind of touching girls ‘accidentally,’ as he says,” Light said. “But I don’t think it was accidentally the way he did it.”
Light said he reported Langlotz’s behavior to school officials, but they apparently didn’t believe him.
08/06/08 - Sentencing
George A. Langlotz, who pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse in April, has been sentenced to 36 months of probation.
Langlotz is prohibited from contacting the victim and is required to register as a sex offender for life.

I’ve know George for over 30 years. To the person who would throw someone in jail from seeing a picture or mugshot…you’ve a lot to learn about life, and for one thing never judge a book by its’ cover. I had never seen or heard of George doing anything inappropriate with minors and in fact had dedicated his life being a teacher and coach only so they could better themselves. I’m sure he plead guilty and took the plea agreement rather than putting this young woman and her family thru a trial, not to mention possibly avoid serving any jail time if found guilty by a jury. There’s 2 sides to every story, and George’s will not be heard…so people, do not rush off assumming things w/out knowing the person nor the complete story.

Why are these guys given paid leave, they should be fired immediately? Joe, since you are a male, that may be the reason why he never put the move on you!
How many times does it need to be repeated?… a teacher is in a position of trust, there should be no social contact of any sort between the teacher and his/her students. It is wrong from every angle, it is sexual abuse and the student is a victim. Period.

What is the disposition of this case? My family has known George for over 35 years and we find it hard to believe that he would do anything inoppropiate with a miner. He’s coached my brother and myself as well as other family members in hockey going back to the time he played for UIC. Never in all that time has he ever done anything even remotely suspect.

He was a nice guy but a weird one and anyone who had him knew that.
Also It is a proven, fact based case. He should be in jail. I wonder if you beign friends with the student is making you feel this way. Also there is no such thing as consent when its a teacher and student. Good try Judge Judy!!!

George Langlotz was one of the best teachers i had!! He had showed up at my mothers wake do u know how nice that was of him??. I honestly dont think this is true..the guy was going through his wife passing away!! He was mean to alot of kids in drivers ed..thats because they were stupid!! none of them knew how to drive..but i did thats why he was nice to me..Hes not a pervet..Hes not nothing… And if he did have sexual relations..wasnt it consent?? Im sure he didnt hold her against her will if it was true..dumb students i tell ya!!..
