Gabriel E. Carlin

Gabriel E. Carlin, 34, a former teacher/owner at East Harbor Christian Academy as well as a minister and daycare owner in Washington, Utah has pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felony attempted sexual abuse of a child.

Carlin admitted that he kissed an 11-year-old girl and attempted to touch her chest and buttocks.

Carlin who is set for sentencing in September faces up to 10 years in prison.

10/21/08 – Pre-Sentencing Evaluation Ordered

A judge has ordered Gabriel E. Carlin to turn himself in to the Washington County jail at 6 p.m. on Friday for the purpose of a 90-day diagnostic evaluation. The results of that evaluation will play a role in Carlin’s sentencing.

Reportedly, under Carlin’s plea agreement with the state if the sentencing recommendation resulting from the evaluation includes the possibility of prison time, Carlin has the option to withdraw his guilty plea.
