Frank Renner, 30, a former physical education teacher at Mazama High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon has been arrested as the result of a grand jury indictment on misdemeanor charges of first-degree official misconduct and third-degree sex abuse.
Renner is accused of engaging in grooming activities and doing so with the intent to have sexual relations with the female student.
Renner’s alleged relationship with the student was reported to authorities on April 27.
As a result of the allegations, Renner was initially placed on administrative leave.
Renner, who was in his first year at the school, subsequently resigned his job.
Following his indictment, Renner was arrested on Monday and released after posting 10-percent of $5,000 bond.
