(1) Q. Why are you doing this?
A. Please see About Badbadteacher.com for the answer.

(2) Q. What geographic areas are included in your reports?
A. Primarily the United States, however as of July 1st, 2008 we are going to expand our coverage by including noteworthy international cases.

(3) Q. What types are schools are included?
A. K-12, public, private, charter, daycare/learning center and specialized training schools.

(4) Q. Do you report only on teachers accused of crimes?
A. No. We report on ALL school personnel accused of crimes including school board members.

(5) Q. Do you report on crimes involving school personnel but not involving student victims?
A. We have changed our policy and now cover cases of school personnel accused of sex crimes.

(6) Q. Do you report on crimes wherein the accused and victim are from different schools?
A. Yes. A person victimizing students at one school may have victimized at others.

(7) Q. What if the accused is later found not guilty or charges are dropped?
A. If we are aware of it, we will post it.

(8) Q. From where do you get your information?
A. News media reports, reader tips and lots of searching.

(9) Q. If you have made a mistake will you correct it?
A. Certainly. Just let us know where we are mistaken.

(10) Q. If someone asks will you remove a particular post?
A. No – unless what we posted is factually wrong, should not have been posted at all or in cases where a person is found not guilty or against whom charges were dropped and they or their attorney specifically asks us to delete coverage of their case.

(11) Q. Why is BadBadTeacher.com written across graphics?
A. Because we got tired of having other sites copy graphics from badbadteacher.com without asking and using the graphics on their sites.

(12) Q. How can readers contact you?
A. Via e-mail at webmaster@badbadteacher.com

(13) Q. Why don’t your archives extend farther into the past? Your site may encourage victims from long past abuses to come forward before the Statute of Limitations expires.
A. Our archives cover the time the site has been online, since the Spring of 2007. We cover current cases but lack the means to provide similar coverage of cases prior to when we went online. Usually we are struggling just to keep up with current cases.

(14) Q. Can you have a search engine to find certain teachers from certain schools? That’ll be exceptionally helpful in seeing how the corresponding school board dealt with the “bad teacher”.
A. The system support searches such as this. In the search box type the last name of the teacher, followed by a single space, followed by the plus sign and followed with the school name inside double quotes, e.g. teachername + “school name”.

(15) Q. Some of the ads displayed on this site are clearly in bad taste. What can and will you do about it?
A. While we have some control over ads displayed on this site, some ads are so called “third party” ads over which we have little or no control. Ad brokers purchase blocks of “ad slots” from the advertising networks of which we are part and the ad brokers select the ads displayed in the bulk ad slots they purchased. When we spot a particularly offense ad we try to prevent its subsequent display but have met with little success.

will you include a reference for need for reform of the penal code!
in many states there is only a 90 day window that protects school districts and personnel, while they are allowing years for those abused by clergy to file suits…..

while abuse of a child by anyone is never acceptable, the same thing that the church was being blamed for: moving priests from parish to parish is exactly the same thing that school districts have done!

I am glad to see sites like this. People need to be more aware that for as many teachers that exist because they want to help students in all sorts of good ways, there are evil people who see teaching as an opportunity to exploit students. Unfortunately, given the world with live in and human nature, we cannot automatically assume that a person unknown to us is one type or the other without knowing that person and their associates.

I have personally known truly great teachers who have added immeasurably to my life. I have known other teachers who knowingly covered up for or were pedophiles. Some of these were/are part of a larger network. In some areas of the country, and depending upon the curriculum area, these people determine who get jobs and who don’t.

I continue to spend much of my time exposing the portion of this network which is my unchosen area of expertise. While I wish I could spend this time, I look back at what I went through – when no one stood up for me or my best interests and told me what ought to have been more widely known – and cannot do to others what is in my power to stop. For those wondering why some create sites like this, I would expect this is part of the reason.

I will add this – despite Megan’s Law and these sites, these people are still out there. Many of them live to hurt, use and exploit others, and see their deceptions as a mark of their superiority. They will never stop until they are stopped. And for some, the money or other “rewards” will keep them coming. Be warned and ever-vigilant.

this is for the aide that sees inappropriate interaction of students with the other aide. Please, at least write an anonymous letter to district police/personnel stating it is inappropriate for an aide to have kids on face book and submit with it a copy of that face book page. Please ask around and find what other things you can do.

You might be, in the long run, avoiding a potential danger.

  • This sight is a good sight afterall.

keep up the good work! Any idea how we can get mugshots of the bad teachers?

How can we see all bab bab teachers from out state
all we can see is the last 3
    Thanks

  • concerned:

I wa just wondering what people would consider inappropriate. I work at a school where an aide seems a little to friendly with the students. She texts them and adds them to face book. During school she has inappropriate conversations with them that a teacher nor an aide should have. I’m not saying that it is sexual but it is inappropriate language and behavior. The students have even lost respect for me as an aide because I am not so friendly and I feel that she may be talking about me to them. I wouldn’t think that way but when you walk into a room and over hear her talking to another student about another student what are you supposed to do. I feel like she has everyone fooled except me. I ran across her face book and she has the same students that are rude to me as her friends on face book. Is that even legal? I would think that it is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. She seems to be chummy chum with the principal and the secretary. I am new to the school so I don’t want to blow the whistle on someone and then loose my job. Anyone have any good advice.

  • Hi. Your site is very informative. My comment is similar to one you have posted regarding GOOD teachers. It would be nice to see a post on your homepage or at least a page somewhere that recognizes the fact that there ARE extremely wonderful teachers. MANY teachers care about their students the “right way.” I had a really rough childhood….alcoholic dad…mom that really didn’t give a damn….etc. etc…If it were not for one of my teachers I don’t really think I would have made it. Not only did he motivate me to do the right things in life, when I graduated from high school he and his wife helped me get into college and even helped me out financially more than once. All he has ever asked me for is to “stay on the right road” , “behave myself” and “help someone else out when I am in a position to do so”…..Over the years I have learned that he has helped many others (boys and girls) in similar ways. He is an angel as well as a teacher.

    Thanks for your suggestion Heather.

And while I feel that the VAST MAJORITY of teachers are decent, law abiding and upright citizens and some of them are even extremely wonderful, the fact is that this is NOT the site to recognize the wonderful teachers and this for a couple of reasons. Not the least of these reasons are the name of this site and its primary focus.

This does not of course mean that someone, maybe even the operators of this site, might not at some time in the future set up an entire site to honor the wonderful teachers.

This site is very good for what it does. I’ve been seeking information on a teacher who abused me and my friends 25 years ago. Thanks to this site I now know that the bastard has been caught.

Remember the focus of this site – exposing abusers – I don’t think anything on this site leads to assumptions that ALL teachers are bad.

  • A Good Good Teacher:

Oh I really wish you would start a partner page. GoodgoodTeachers.com and you could highlight all the good things teachers do on an everyday basis for kids. While I agree that the people on this site are pricks you all should think about what percent we are talking about. Oh I just strted a new site badbadwebmasters.com, check it out!

When my name is googled your website comes up; however, I am not a teacher. Can you let me know how this can be removed?
