Eric Woodworth, 42, a physical education teacher and ninth-grade football coach at Paulding County High School in Dallas, Georgia has reportedly been arrested and charged with sexual assault involving a 17-year-old female student.
Woodworth came to the attention of authorities around 11 p.m. Tuesday night when Dallas Police allegedly discovered Woodworth and the girl in Woodworth’s vehicle in a Dallas city park.
It is alleged that, when questioned by police, the girl lied about her name and age and that Woodworth allegedly confirmed the false information the girl gave to officers.
Dallas Police turned the investigation over to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit which following its investigation charged Woodworth with one count of sexual assault and one count of obstruction.
The student has been charged with one count of obstruction for lying about her name and birth date when questioned by officers.
Reportedly both the student and Woodworth were still in custody on Wednesday evening.
Woodworth was being held in lieu of bond totaling $4,250.

He wasn’t bad…he was so caring and loving to everyone around him. I was very very close to him. I was crushed when I found this out….I still don’t believe he did it but then again…
What is you peoples problems? The guy obviously knew what he was doing he is a grown man!! He knew the consequenses before taking his actions. I hope he rots in a prison cell!! It is just sick and twisted!
OMG!! I have known him for such a long time and am great friends with his son. I love his wife too! This is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I like Shawntia says he isn’t a bad guy.
Coach Woodworth isn’t the bad guy reporters are making him out to be. He wasn’t that type of person, he wuz probably provoked by the female student.
