Eric Charles Gladden, 34, a teacher at Futures High School, a charter school in North Highlands, California, has been arrested following an investigation involving inappropriate contact with five female students.
It is alleged that Gladden sent pictures of his genitalia to the female students who were 16 and 17 years-old with the alleged incidents taking place between March 2008 and January 2009. Gladden also is accused of supplying the students with alcohol at his home on more than one occasion.
Reportedly Gladden is facing 34 felony and misdemeanor charges involving distribution of lewd material to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of minors, child annoyance and falsifying documents to be used as evidence.
Investigators say there’s evidence that Gladden had inappropriate conduct with students, both in person and through cell phones.
Gladden was reportedly being held in custody at Sacramento County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.
Arrested along with Gladden was Monica Alarcon, 29, also a teacher at Futures High School.
Alarcon is reportedly facing one count of falsifying documents to be used in evidence.
Reportedly the investigation revealed that she allegedly helped Gladden forge and plant evidence in an attempt to clear him of the accusations
Bail for Alarcon was set at $50,000.
Both Gladden and Alarcon are scheduled for court appearances Friday.
Gladden teaches economics, history and leadership and is the advisor of the school’s video game club while Alarcon is a Spanish teacher and the yearbook advisor.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation and says there could be more victims and charges.

06/01/09 – No Contest Plea
Last Thursday, Eric Charles Gladden pleaded no contest to charges related to inappropriate sexual contact with underage students. Sentencing is set for July 16th.
Monica Alarcon who previously entered a guilty plea to misdemeanor charges for falsifying documents to assist Gladden reportedly faces 90 days in county jail.

this creep “dated” my roommate after meeting her on some messenger site. he texted her pics of his parts, along with a list of other numbers on the same text–probably these students of his. we tried to retrieve the pics after this story surfaced to turn over to police. sadly they were deleted already. they stopped “dating” due to the colorful messages his students were leaving on his myspace….anyone seen that?
Yes I did see his myspace before it was deleted & I questioned him then why he had a bunch of 15-16yr old girls as his friends. He is seriously sick & has some deep sexual issues he needs help for, to bad he seems to have gotten off lightly.
Well, this one is in the bag. After the addition of another long list of felony charges, and the subsequent dropping of them, sentencing was finally handed down on the following charges:
Felony, two counts – PC 261.5(c): Unlawful sexual intercourse with minor more than 3 years younger than defendant.
Felony, one count – PC 134: Falsifying Documents
Misdemeanor, three counts – PC 647.6(A): Annoying/Molesting a Minor
Misdemeanor, two counts – PC 272: Contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Mr. Gladden pleaded no contest to the above charges in a plea deal with the DA. All other charges (well over 20) were dropped as a result. His sentence? A paltry 2 years.
Without knowing the details of the case against him, the truth behind the original allegations (at least the extent of accuracy), and other mitigating factors it is difficult to say whether this was an appropriate sentence. But from where I am sitting it sure as hell doesn’t seem like justice was served.
I do know, however, that he is no longer on the guest list for Thanksgiving dinner.

So he takes pictures of his genitals and sends them to teenie-boppers. How utterly cute! He might want to consider starting his own greeting card business. Maybe his female accomplice can translate them into spanish to satisfy the mexican senorita demand. What a clown!
I was one of those high school students he preyed on although he was not a teacher at the time. It is not surpising at all..
Eric has now pleaded no contest to a variety of charges. I tried posting the story as a message here but it didn’t show up.
Sentencing is set for July 19th.

Ex-teacher pleads no contest to inappropriate sexual contact with student

A former Sacramento County high school teacher pleaded no contest Thursday to felony and misdemeanor charges related to inappropriate sexual contact with underage students, according to a news release from District Attorney Jan Scully’s office.
The release states that Eric Gladden, while working at Futures High School, engaged sexually with one female student, sent vivid text messages to others and provided alcohol to students at his home.
He made fake “teacher meeting logs” at the school to cover up his actions, the news release states.
“The sexual offenses in this case are made even more egregious given that they were committed by a person in a position of authority,” said Casey Newton, deputy district attorney.
A co-defendant, Monica Alarcon, already entered a guilty plea to misdemeanor charges for falsifying documents to assist Gladden, the news release states. She faces 90 days in county jail, the news release states.
Gladden’s sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 16 in Department 30 of the Sacramento County Superior Court.
Eric is a sick individual. I knew him personally & was not surprised when I heard about this at all.
both of them were excelent teachers, gladden knew alot about history and taught us well, monica was straight by the rules also was a good tewacher, donno anything about their person lives but they were one of the best teachers i had..
Every person makes mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance. Gladden were with you all the way.
Alarcon is odd. most teacher would have ran for the hills knowing what Gladden has done. me smells more to this than just helping a brotha out.
