Douglas R. Jones, 46, of Aurora, Illinois a member of the Kane County Educational Board and a substitute teacher in the Aurora East School District has been arrested on allegations that he exposed himself to a 3-year-old boy.

Jones was arrested after the father of a boy upon approaching Jones’ ice cream truck said he saw Jones exposing himself inside the truck. Jones reportedly worked for the company driving an ice cream truck for approximately ten years.
Jones in addition to being a substitute teacher and member of the school board is also reportedly a Presbyterian minister having attained a masters of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, N.J.
Following his arrest, Jones was held on $15,000 bond.
01/14/09 – Guilty Verdict
A Kane County jury found has found Douglas R. Jones guilty of exposing himself to a 3-year-old boy on June 25, 2007.
Jones faces up to three years in prison at sentencing February 25th.
05/21/09 – Sentencing
Douglas R. Jones has been sentenced to 15 days in the Kane County Jail with the time to be served on weekend.
Jones was also reportedly sentenced to to 30 months of specialized sex offender probation.
Jones must also register as a convicted sex offender for the next 10 years.
The state will seek to have Jones’ teaching certification revoked.
