David N. Scheck, 25, the band director and music teacher at West Morris Central High School in Chester, New Jersey has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Scheck is charged with one count of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of Second Degree Sexual Assault, one count of Third Degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, one count of fourth degree Criminal Sexual Contact, one count of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of third degree Witness Tampering.
Scheck is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student and then scheming with the girl to cover up the relationship after her parents went to police.
Scheck allegedly had sexual contact with the girl both at her home and in a band practice room at the school.
Scheck came to the attention of police in June when the girl’s parents complained however Scheck denied the allegations, hired a lawyer and stopped talking with investigators.
It was not until October that the girl confided in another person regarding the relationship and that person told police.
Following his arrest Scheck was held on bail of $100,000.
