David L. Mindick

David L. Mindick, 61, a former substitute teacher at Manatee Elementary School in Port St. Lucie, Florida has been sentenced to 225 days in the St. Lucie County Jail and five years probation for lewd and lascivious molestation of 8-year-old female students.

Six girls told school officials in December 2005 that Mindick improperly touched their chests or backsides.

Mindick was originally charged with six counts of felony sexual battery. However, he pleaded guilty to one felony count and four counts of misdemeanor sexual battery because one alleged victim did not make a deposition and prosecutors acknowledged trouble with showing a lewd intent on Mindick’s part.
