(05/28/08 - Initial BBT Report)
Darrel Johnson, 37, a former teacher at Hiram High School in Hiram, Georgia has been arrested and charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old female student.
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the allegations on May 16. Johnson was arrested on Tuesday.
Johnson has been charged with one count of sexual assault and his bond was set at $2,850.
The Sheriff’s Office asks any other students or persons that may have had inappropriate contact with Mr. Johnson to please contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit at (770) 445-6105.
Reportedly Johnson resigned from the school prior to his arrest.

Had him as a teacher and he always TAUGHT us and made history fun. He was always a prof. and just tried to make students feel like they could be open in his class. We miss him this year, and believe he has been shafted-remember he hasnt been found guilty of anything!!!

ALLEGED!! Katie you need to realize he hasnt been convicted of anything, no matter what you think of him he is INNOCENT until proven guilty!!! I had him as a teacher and he wasnt a creep toward me, and I aced the AP TEST!

Any teacher that would abuse his or her position of authority for sexual needs is NOT an awesome teacher. He did not behave like a teacher-he acted more like a student. That’s probably why you thought he was so great. Teachers are supposed to teach, not make friends.
So yeah, that makes him a creep.

I just want to say that my girlfriend’s little sister went to Hiram High and it makes me sick to think that the people we put so much trust in to educate our youth in ALL subjects, are only concerned with sexual education. What a disgrace.
