Guilty

(07/17/08 – Initial BBT Report)

Daniel Utter, 34, a former girls’ basketball coach at Paris High School in Paris, Arkansas has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a female student where he worked previously in the Cabot School District.

Utter was arrested in February on campus at Paris High School on allegations that he kissed and fondled a girl at Cabot Junior High and later had sex with her on three different occasions in a Jacksonville hotel room in March 2005.

To police, the girl described her relationship with Utter as “boyfriend and girlfriend” and it was reported that Utter, when confronted by the girl’s father, confessed the sexual relationship.

In addition to being a coach at the high school, Utter also taught social studies at Paris Middle School. Utter resigned from the school system on the day of his arrest.

    He was never charged with having sex with this person, that was an allegation. He was charged with 1 count of inappropriate touching (hands on waist). It is a shame the real story never will get to come out.
