Daniel W. Kerekes, 37, a physical education and health teacher at South Brunswick High School in South Brunswick, New Jersey has been arrested and charged on allegations of a sexual relationship with a female student.
It is alleged that Kerekes has been sexually involved with the girl since sometime last fall.
Kerekes has been charged with one count of sexual assault and his bond was set at $200,000.
In addition to working at South Brunswick High School, reportedly Kerekes also works as the lacrosse coach for the boys’ team at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South.
07/30/08 - Guilty Plea
Daniel W. Kerekes has pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child after admitting that he had sex with a 16-year-old female student.
Kerekes faces up to three years in prison at his sentencing on October 17th.
The offense to which Kerekes pleaded guilty does NOT require that he register under Megan’s Law as a sexual offender.
10/17/08 - Sentencing
Daniel Kerekes was sentenced this morning to a three-years in prison.
Kerekes may be permitted to apply for admission to an intensive supervisory program that would release him on parole after serving three to nine months in custody.
As part of the plea deal, Kerekes will be prohibited from ever holding a “public job”, i.e. teacher, coach or other job requiring contact with minors.
The victim did not appear in court at Kerekes’ sentencing did however write a letter to the judge asking that Kerekes not be sentenced to prison. Reportedly the victim’s mother also wrote a letter stating that her daughter was not harmed by the relationship. The mother subsequently contacted the prosecutor and said she had second thoughts about the matter.
Although Kerekes admitted having a sexual relationship with the victim, under terms of the plea agreement he will NOT be required to register as a sex offender.

Mr.kerekes was the best even knwo we had our differences when i didnt listin lol kereks stay up in thie it wasnt all ur fault it was that gurl fault to you didnt force her to do it!!

well 3 years? by the time he is sentenced it might be less than a year-what a lucky dude.

Most of you kids really should pay more attention to what your teachers are teaching and not what they are doing. I’ve never seen such horrific spelling and grammar in all my life. This country surely is going downhill if this thread is any indication.
That being said…if Danny were a hot female teacher, she’d be out on the street already with her picture plastered all over the internet and guys all over the country wishing they had her as a teacher. Double standard much?

Wow…this is nasty as hell…why would u do that….omg kerekes was my gym teacher last year and he was an ass…. i hated this guy…..he shud always be kept in JAIL for his offence…like come on with a junior….u couldnt get anyone else to mess around with…u had to just f everything up…WOW…craziii..and embarassing becuz i go to that school….sadly

You students are spending way too much time on this issue and should be doing your grammar homework. Your spelling and grammar are horrific. Stay in school, do your homework, and resist the temptation of sex until you are married. The world will be a much better place.

vetguy………you ask why none of Dan’s friends didn’t act on what has been reported? well because none of us knew of anything to act on…………if anything was indeed going on it was without anyones knowledge, many people have said this but until the facts of what is being alledged is shown, noone has any clue as to what has or was been going on, or if nothing was going on
so lets let it play out
