I had a huge crush on Mr. Frick in high school…I used to hang out in the band room all of the time just to spend time with him. I wanted to die whenever he hugged me. I can see how this girl got swept away by Mr. Frick, I just wish that he would have remained strong and said no for the sake of his wife and kids. A part of me will always love Mr. Frick- he was a great influence in my music as well as my life in high school. He pushed me to succeed. I hate seeing this happen to him, but I guess he did bring it on himself.

I always liked Mr. Frick. He was an odd man but devoted to music. Unfortunately…it doesn’t matter what I thought of him, nice people do bad things, too.

Everyone is fighting over whether or not he used to hit on girls; you are accusing people of lying about the past. How can you accuse them of lying if he has admited to sex with his students? Shame on the nephew for degrading these women, especially if you don’t know the full story. It seems Mr. Frick wasn’t the man that most of us thought he was. He is an adulterer; doesn’t that speak volumes? He had three kids and a wife and yet he still slept with someone who was dang near close to a minor. How do you want us to respond? You want us to lynch these girls who are now admitting how uncomfortable they felt around him? (Deleted by moderator)

    FormerSRC Says:

I’ve read a lot about how he was a good man and was so kind and these things are true. During my time at SRC I considered Dan Frick to be more than a teacher but a friend. I did not have a happy time in school, and Mr. Frick was one of the few people who treated me with respect and consideration. Being a male student I cannot say for certain if he treated girls as mentioned. I don’t necessarily believe it and never heard such things from anyone I knew.

All of this said, what has done has completely ruined my opinion of the man. People can say he was a good man all they want and I wish I could remember him that way, but, good men don’t cheat on their wives. Good men don’t betray their families. Good men do not sleep with their students, who are young enough to their children.

Mr. Frick was an important figure in my education, but he is not a good man. He threw away so much for so little and I will never be able to respect him again.
