(1/13/08 - Initial BBT Report)
Dale Eugene Bowe, 46, director of the marching band at Port Charlotte High School in Port Charlotte, Floria has been arrested on allegations that he performed nonconsensual sex acts on two male students.
Bowe came to the attention of authorities when a 16-year-old boy reported to a school resource officer that Bowe had performed oral sex on the boy, against his will, while the two were on a trip to Disney World.
As the investigation into that allegation was on-going a second boy, a 15 year-old, reported a similar experience when Bowe invited the boy to his home to use his swimming pool.
Follow the first accusation Bowe was ordered off the school campus and prohibited from returning until the case was concluded.
Bowe was arrested Friday and released from jail on $75,000 bond on Saturday. Thus far Bowe has been charged only with the first alleged offense. Arraignment is set for March 3rd.
Media reports now indicate that Bowe has resigned.
3/22/08 - New sex assault charges
Dale Bowe has been arrested on two warrants out of Orange County, Florida. Bowe faces two charges of unlawful sexual activity against a minor.
Bowe is accused of abusing students while on trips to Disney World.
4/01/08 - Released on Bond
Last Friday, Dale Bowe was released from the Orange County Jail on $20,000 bail.
Bowe’s conditions of bail require that he wear a GPS tracking device, avoid Internet searches, stay away from all U.S. theme parks and avoid contact with his alleged victims as well as anyone under age 17.
05/16/08 - Details of Arrest Affidavits Released
Redacted copies of the affidavits for arrest warrants have been released to the news media providing additional details of the prior allegations upon which Bowe was arrested and charged.
06/03/08 - Dale Bowe Dead
Dale Bowe has been found dead with a gun shot wound to the head.
Initial reports indicate investigators believe Bowe’s death is most likely as a result of suicide.

Bowe should NEVER have been with any of these students alone. He apparently habitually demonstrated bad judgement, having students alone with him at his house.
Why wasn’t Bowe making friends with adults his age? Being in the banking business for years, he must have understood CYA.
There was a rumor that a teacher at PCHS had been accused of doing something inappropriate to a student in their office while the door was closed. The rumor held that the teacher was found innocent, but had to agree to leave their office door open ever since whenever a female student was in the office with them. Dale almost certainly knew this rumor/allegation, and yet he chose to not exercise due caution.
Even Ms. Linda Mann would go to great lengths to not be alone with a student. I believe this was an exercise in good judgement and prudence to be beyond reproach.
Billy Graham reportedly wouldn’t even sit alone with Hillary Clinton because he wanted to be beyond reproach. So he avoided there ever even possibly being a situation where he could be accused.
On the other end of the risk management spectrum we have Dale Bowe. He is alleged to have invited a student to use his hot tub while they were alone in his house. I would swear under oath that he made the same invitation to me many years ago, and that it made me feel quite uncomfortable. And, according to the police reports, there was more than just invites to his house, but even trips in his car alone to Disney. Isn’t the invitation crossing the line?
Have you been through sexual harrasment training at work? Imaging applying that training to a school environment. Think it’s okay to bring a student home with you now, alone? Think again!
Please, wake up. This kind of behavior is creepy. It’s odd. It lacks sound judgement. The man should have had friends his age to hang out with instead, or he should have always been around other adults with these children.

You still don’t get it, people can be so vindictive and mean. I don’t really give a crap who you think you are, BUT insulting a man who was with Charlotte County for something like 18 years, which oh… that’s right!! is longer than the boys accusing Mr. Bowe have been alive.. well someone explain to me why he would do this? I’ve known Dale for years on in a professional relationship and about two more in a personal friendship. I promise you have no idea what the life a music educator is like. Sure being a band kid is hard work, I know it is, I did it for 8 years as middle and high school in Charlotte County. Now I’m a music education student working on becoming a teacher. I really don’t give a crap what you or anyone is accusing Dale of doing, keep it to yourself. If you really wore abused by him the only person you need to convince is a judge and or jury. Seeing as I am neither, nor are any of the people on the this website. Stop disrescting the memory of Dale Bowe, He spent years working in this county to teach whinny, complaining, and apparently disrespectful students in this community he deserves to be remembered as anamazing musician and excellent teacher.
I’m sooooo sorry that you didn’t like that he was mean, and tough, and expected perfect but stop whinning and remember him for the wonderful things he did for THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of students over the last two decades.
Oh and before someone starts something about me insulting the “poor abused children” I was molested for over 10 years, and guess what?! I turned out okay! If it really did happen, they will too. Grow up some kids, it’s way past time.

I doubt he was falsely accused. The stats on false accusations show that it is unlikely he was falsely accused. How about letting the victims heal as well instead of lashing out at them? The only truth that matters now is that he is dead and everyone loses in this type of case.

“Who am I”, I 0% believe in you. My heart and prayers go out to anyone who is falsely accused. Don’t take this wrong I believe there are those who justly deserve to be punished, but Dale wasn’t one of them. Please stop this and let the family and friends of Dale heal.
