(7/09/07 - Initial BBT Report)
A preliminary hearing for Craig Benedict Lee, 53 of Petaluma, California, the Superintendent of the Lagunitas School District, on child pornography charges scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed.
Lee previously pleaded not guilty to 13 felony counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexual conduct.
The hearing was continued to August and the judge ordered a psychological examination for Lee who is on unpaid leave from his job.
Lee was arrested in April following a domestic disturbance call by Petaluma Police.
Police were shown the illicit materials consisting of what appears to be computer generated images printed onto paper of the course of years. The materials were allegedly discovered by Lee’s girlfriend who confronted Lee about them.
Prior to becoming Superintendent of the Lagunitas School District Lee was a teacher and principal at the Igo-Ono Elementary School near Redding.
Lee remains free on $150,000 bond.
3/11/08 - No Contest Plea
Craign Benedict Lee pleaded no contest in Sonoma County Superior Court this morning to one count of possession of child pornography.
In exchange for the no contest plea all other charges were either combined into the single charge or dropped.
Lee faces up to 3 years in prison when he is sentenced June 30.
07/21/08 - Sentencing
Craig Benedict Lee has been sentenced to 6 months in the county jail for possession of child pornography.
The judge allowed Lee to apply for electronic home confinement and to turn himself in to the jail on October 21st if that request is rejected.
Lee will be required to register as a sex offender.

Six months and may be at home, now there’s justice for you!!! A petty thief gets more time than that. This should just encourage the rest of the predators out there, it isn’t much of a deterrent.

I’m the parent of a child that was victimized by this sick individual, he was Principal of the rural school my child attended, when my child was sexually abused in the restroom at school numerous times by another student his reply was that was perfectly
normal childhood behavior. I guess you would believe that if you spent your time looking at pictures of children in sexual poses with adults. I made my child safe by removing him from the school,
and the following year two more children were victimized by the same student under Lee’s supervision, all I can hope is what comes
around goes around!!!!!
