Columbus Dean “Ken” Kennett IV, 38, a former teacher aide and boys’ baseball coach at Northwest Middle School in Greenville, South Carolina charged with two counts of lewd acts on a minor has in a plea deal pleaded guilty to lesser charges of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Kennett, who was reportedly a Greenville Police Officer from 1993-2002 before working at the school, is alleged to have kissed a 14-year-old female student and fondled her breasts on two occasions. Police said the incidents occurred in Kennett’s SUV in the school parking lot and in the driveway at the girl’s home.
The two incidents are alleged to have occurred in February, 2008 and Kennett came to the attention of authorities when the girl’s parents came home one afternoon to find their daughter getting out of Kennett’s car, which then sped away. Although the girl initially denied the SUV driver was Kennett, the parents had recognized him and ultimately the girl admitted it was Kennett and admitted he had kissed and touched her inappropriately.
Reportedly Kennett, who was married, had written letters to the girl professing his love for her and although the letters were unsigned handwriting analysis allegedly matched Kennett’s handwriting with that of the letters.
At his court hearing Kennett apologized to the girl’s family and called his actions completely “out of bounds.”
The judge sentenced Kennett to three years probation and ordered that he go through counseling, register as a sex offender, give up his teaching license and reportedly he will be required to wear a GPS monitor for the rest of his life.
If Kennett violates the terms of his probation he will reportedly have to serve 10 years in prison.

As a fact there were letters because i seen them, and there was a handwriting analysis because i was shown the proof of every single thing that was involved in this case, so before you leave comments like this you need to know the facts, and he is required to were a GPS monitor……………
As stated by the judge at the hearing, there was no evidence of ANY “letters”. No handwriting analysis. Whoever “reported” this to this website is a slanderer. All false. Never happened. The sentence did NOT require any GPS monitoring nor registering as a sex offender. What ever happened to responsible reporting? Report the truth. The media needs to stop embellishing things for shock value.
