Clifford “Scooter” Holloway, 56, a science and physical education teacher at Northeast Middle School in Meridian, Mississippi has reportedly been arrested in Pensacola, Florida on allegations that he drove there thinking he was going to have sex with a 15-year-old female.
Holloway came to the attention of authorities when the mother of a 16-year-old girl in Pensacola, Florida contacted police and told them that her 16-year-old daughter was communicating with a 56-year-old man on MySpace. Investigators allegedly determined that the man used the online identity of “Golfcoach18″, both on MySpace and Yahoo and that the man was Clifford Holloway.
Police interviewed the girl and it is alleged that she told them that she had communicated with Holloway online, that they had exchanged nude pictures and that he had traveled to Pensacola to have sex with her twice in March with the sexual contact taking place in a local motel.
In light of the allegations by the girl, Pensacola police investigators pretending to be a 15-year-old female communicated with Holloway using MySpace. It is alleged that over the course of Holloway’s online contact with the fake 15-year-old that he transmitted nude pictures of himself to the “girl” and set up a plan to meet in Pensacola to have sex with her.
A Pensacola Police spokesperson says that Holloway drove to Pensacola on Thursday and arrived about noon with plans to meet “the girl” at 2:30 p.m. At about 3:30 p.m. Holloway was arrested by members of the Northwest Florida Child Pornography Task Force.
Lauderdale County school superintendent Randy Hodges has indicated that Holloway, who has been with the school system for 28 years, has been suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the case.
Reportedly Holloway’s computer at Northeast Middle School was seized by police on Friday. Police have also reportedly seized Holloway’s personal computer and cell phone and all will be subjected to a forensic analysis to determine if he has been in contact with other minors.
Investigators are asking that any teenagers who have been in contact with Holloway or know someone who has, contact Detective Tarlanda Gooden at (850) 435-1972.
02/15/10 – No Contest Plea and Sentencing
Reportedly, Clifford Holloway has pleaded no contest to the charges against him.
Holloway was sentenced to eight years in prison.
In addition to his prison time, Holloway must surrender his teaching certificate, register as a sex offender.
Holloway also must serve years on probation once he’s released. One report indicates 8 years probation while a second report indicates 10 years probation.

I worked with him for about 5 yrs. at Lowe’s and he was such a great person to be around and to work with. He was very well liked. It is so sad to hear about this. He should be held accountable for his actions. But where was this girl’s parents when she was laid up at a motel?
It doesn’t matter where the girl’s parents were or were not. This man is a predator of teens. Are you forgetting that he went back to have sex with a 15 year old, who was actually law enforcement? I don’t care how nice he was when he worked with you at Lowes. He is a pervert and deserves to be in jail. Jeesh, blame the kid why don’t we?
Wow Wow Wow…I remember having him as a coach, but I don’t remember him. I am currently in the 12th grade of Northeast High school. Danggggggggggg…I just can’t believe he was sexing up that girl. He is not even sexy. I just…Wait? Is there a picture of her? She better be pretty damn hot. My friend said she is 16. Makes me wonder why a 16 year old girl is still in middle school…

you could see the look of excitement whenever a girl would wear a short skirt.

It is good that you all are venting; however, Coach HOlloway is not the only pervert in the Lauderdale County School System. Some of you are not speaking out abou the others. Anytime and adult in authority over you approach you in a sexual like manner, it should be reported. If no one listens, continue to report it to someone else. This has gone on toooooooooooo long because he was my teacher back in the day and there have been issues for a while. Teachers should not make advances towards students, but girls and guys you have got to speak up. go over the heads of your teachers and principal if you have to.
Lmfao!!!!!!!! I always knew he’d get caught. My friend which is a girl used to ride his bus and she sat right behind him and he always looked in the mirror and looked down her shirt. But that was with every girl that was in the front seats.
And once AGAIN, there’s that same facial hair! Must be the perverted sort of look that’s so many of these molesters like to be identified with. Doesn’t the Devil himself have a similar beard and mustache?

I feel horrible for Coach Holloway’s family. These accusations are terribly disturbing and perhaps fulfill long-standing suspicions. However, I really hope everyone will keep Coach Holloway’s family at top-of-mind during this very, very deeply hurtful time in their lives. Coach Holloway is ultimately responsible for his actions, but his family is enduring intense heartache and I sincerely hope all will be considerate and respect their privacy and their long-standing positive reputations within Lauderdale County.
He was my teacher once and i told every body that he was a complete perv and nobody believed me. but now i bet they wish they did… i feel bad for (Name deleted by site moderator). he used to look you up on myspace in class.haha

I remember when he tried to get with me an my friend so i know it is true. We told some teachers but they didnt believe us.
I have known him and his family for years, always thought he was a pervert, but him being a teacher, just thought he was being just over friendly.. He used to come and watch our cheerleading practices everyday, me along with the other cheerleaders that cheered with me, thought he was visiting our sponsor… ummm makes me wonder if he was not there for the bloomers…. he has a daughter that is about 26 or so, now I would she was 15 at one time! You would think that a father would know better. He truly has a sickness. I will keep his family in my prayers, bless his sons heart (they share the same name). These are allegations, and well he is innocent until proven guilty. But, I don’t think he would have been arrested on charges this harsh if it was not true.
This is beyond disturbing. Coach Holloway taugh me in the 7th grade which wasn’t that long ago. And to find this out only proves what every girl kept saying the man is a perv!
