Claude Andrew Harris, 36, former Principal at Joseph T. Mastin High School, located in the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center, in Bon Air, Virginia has reportedly been found guilty in a jury trial on four felony counts of carnal knowledge of a minor.

Harris was convicted on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a then 15-year-old female inmate at the institution.
At trial teachers at the school testified that Harris took the alleged victim out of classes for what was perceived as preferential treatment.
Teachers also testified that they found Harris with the victim in locked areas at the school.
The alleged victim testified that she had a months-long relationship with Harris in 2007 and used a calendar to show the jury the dates and places within the school she said she had sex with him.
The girl also showed jurors love letters and a charm pendant she said Harris sent her.
After finding Harris guilty on the four counts the jury recommended that Harris be sentenced to four years in prison and pay $2,000 in restitution.
Formal sentencing is set for June and Harris faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
08/28/09 – Sentencing
Judge Frederick G. Rockwell III has followed the jury’s recommendation and sentenced Claude Andrew Harris to four years in prison and a $2,000 fine.
Harris’ attorney Susan Parrish indicated that Harris plans to appeal.
