Christopher John Ontiveros, 42, a social science teacher at Oxford Academy in Cypress, California has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female student.
Reportedly, Ontiveros was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual communication with a minor, grooming a minor, and child annoyance.
A Cypress Police spokesperson has indicated that investigators believe that inappropriate sexual contact occurred between Ontiveros and the alleged victim over the course of several months.
Ontiveros came to the attention of Cypress Police by way of notification by school officials.
Following his arrest, Ontiveros was reportedly freed on $100,000 bond.

Mr. o was never a teacher of mine but he had subbed our class sometimes and i find it very hard to believe he would do something like this. he was always a chill funny teacher who was very passionate bout jefferson/hamilton. i hope this is taken care of soon and that he is innocent until proven guilty

Ridiculous how they picked out the picture that makes mr. O look like a child molestor. He’s like the most gentle lookin teacher.

To all the students that love and adore this teacher: it is great that your experience with him was positive, but don’t be quick to judge the alleged victim. It is a proven fact that most perps are family friends or family members. As for teachers, it is the ones that the students love and adore as well as the parents! I’m not in any way saying he is guilty, but don’t assume the alleged victim is lying. Oxford students are way too intelligent to not know the repercussions that would follow from filing a false report. He also has a lot of charges against him, so at least probably crossed the line somewhere. All in all, all parties involved need prayer in this sad situation.
As a former student of Oxford, I have to say you’re giving the students too much credit in understanding the repercussions of a false report. The entire 6 years I was there I saw students do stupid things. As for your proven fact; it’s not a fact. It’s only a statistic.
Unfortunately for Mr. Ontiveros his career as teacher is over. Whether he is found innocent or guilty of these charges. He will never be able to teach in a school classroom. It will also be difficult for his wife to find a job as a teacher because of the association.
This is a very sad situation, to think that this smart man would commit a felony knowing the outcome would only harm his own childen and career is very hard to fathom.

Innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately, even if Mr. Ontiveros is cleared, this accusation will be a dark cloud that will hang over him and overshadow the fabulous teacher that he is. Both of my children have nothing but wonderful things to say about Mr. “O’ and we are all deeply saddened by these accusations.
We will stand by Mr. O and let the investigation take its course. Innocent until proven guilty!
No one can assume that Mr. Ontiveros is a good person. Parents of students at Oxford Academy automatically assume that Christopher Ontiveros is a good teacher and everything, but no one really knows who he is. People always yell out that he is a good person because he has his wife working at Oxford Academy too, and they “spend their breaks together” and have 5 children. There are people out there who love their wives and children, and still kill or rape kids. Everyone has to stay neutral on this topic. Innocent until proven guilty.
I had Mr. Ontiveros as my 11th grade AP History teacher, and I would never have imagined him being accused of anything like this. He was always a very kind man and an amazing teacher. Anyone who knows him would say how much he loves his wife and kids. I really hope he is treated as innocent until proven guilty because I believe there is a good chance this girl is just crying out for attention.
I agree with Oz. I also had Mr. Ontiveros, and he was the teacher I compared all my other teachers to. He is a great person, and loving husband and father. I won’t believe these allegations unless PROVEN guilty. Even then, I will have a hard time believing them. May God bless their family during this extremely difficult time.
I am positive that this is a misunderstanding or a cry for attention from the girl. Mr. O is not a sexual assaulter, he is a great teacher. I hope this gets cleared up…fast!
I had Mr. Ontiveros for 2 years and can honestly say he is one of the best teachers and human being I have ever known. You’d be hard pressed to find a man who loved his wife or his daughters more. I am still hoping this is a mistake and everything will be rectified. Please remember he is innocent until proven guilty and reserve judgments till more facts come out.
