		<description>The prior speaker makes a good point about the negative effect this will have on Mr. Dumaine's family- his wife and children have and will suffer.  However I doubt that they would suffer any more from this event than they would from any affair, were it not for the negativity and demonization people publicly express toward the event.  Yes, Mr. Dumaine's actions were illegal.  However they were only illegal because he was a teacher at the girl's school.  Sixteen is the legal age of consent in this state, as well as many others.  The law merely makes an exception when the relationship is between a teacher/priest/coach/authority and a student. Since Mr. Dumaine had become this girl's teacher, he committed a crime.  Had he quit his job (or transferred to another school) and then had the affair, we wouldn't even know we were supposed to want to burn him at the stake.  Certainly what he did was morally questionable, but I would still shake his hand if I were to see him today.</description>
