Cesar Don Juan-Flores

Cesar Don Juan-Flores, 26, an assistant boys basketball coach at La Jolla Country Day School, in La Jolla, California has been arrested on suspicion of having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old female student.

Reportedly Juan-Flores is a former graduate of the school who had been a part-time assistant coach of the men’s basketball and cross-country teams while a student at San Diego State University and during his current post graduate studies.

Juan-Flores went to a voluntarily interview with police on August 17th following an anonymous tip that he was having an improper relationship with the female student. After that interview, police took the case to the district attorney’s office which charged Juan-Flores with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

Christopher Schuck, head of La Jolla Country Day School has stated that “All professional ties between the coach and La Jolla Country Day School have been severed”.

Following his arrest earlier today, Juan-Flores was held at the San Diego Central Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.

8/28/07 - Released on Bail

Cesar Don Juan-Flores posted bail and has been released from jail.

He is scheduled to be back in court on September 10th.

9/11/07 - Not Guilty Plea

Juan-Flores appeared at a court hearing yesterday and pleaded not guilty to six counts of unlawful sex with a minor.

1/14/08 - Guilty Plea

Cesar Don Juan-Flores has pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with an underage student.

Don Juan-Flores is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 13.

2/13/08 - Sentencing

Cesar Don Juan-Flores has been sentenced to 180 days work furlough and three years probation.  He is NOT required to register as a sex offender.
