Jamie Nicole Hale, 32, a former choir teacher at Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyoming has been charged on allegations of having sexual contact with a 17-year-old male student in January and February, 2009.

Hale is reportedly charged with sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree and sexual abuse of a minor in the fourth degree. Hale was arraigned on the charges on Tuesday and entered a not guilty plea.

Hale is reportedly no longer an employee of Lincoln County School District 2 after resigning in March.

The judge has ordered no information be released that might reasonably identify the alleged victim in this case.

If convicted on both counts, Hale could face up to 20 years in prison.

06/08/09 – No Contest Plea

Jamie Nicole Hale has reportedly entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor count of sexual battery and a felony count of sexual abuse of a minor in the fourth degree.

Reportedly, Hale has been sentenced to six months in jail and ordered to begin serving her sentence on July 1st.

In addition, Hale’s jail sentence will be followed by three years probation and she was ordered to undergo a sex offender evaluation.

Troy S. Pittman, 33, a former history teacher and football coach at Lovell High School in Lovell, Wyoming has been bound over for trial in Park County on two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

It is alleged that Pittman provided alcohol and pornography to boys at a private residence and persuaded them to engage in specific sexual activities while he watched.

Although the alleged victims are now adults they were 13 to 15 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

Pittman is reportedly under investigation and possibly facing additional charges of a similar nature in Big Horn County, Wyoming.

04/05/08 – Arraignment

On Thursday, Troy Pittman appeared for his arraignment and pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecent liberties with a child

No trial date has been set.

09/03/08 – Guilty Plea

Troy Pittman pleaded guilty today to one felony count of taking indecent liberties with a minor child.

The plea was part of a “package agreement” that included dismissing one count of the same charge in Big Horn County and the second of two pending counts of the same charge in Park County.

District Court Judge John Brackley gave Pittman a suspended sentence of three to five years in state prison, contingent on Pittman’s successful completion of five years of supervised probation.

Pittman will be required to register as a sex offender.

Shawn Jeter, 34, a vocational agriculture teacher at Pinedale High School, in Pinedale, Wyoming has been charged on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a female student.

Jeter is charged with crimes in two counties.

News media reports indicate that Jeter faces four counts of second-degree sexual assault and six counts of third-degree sexual assault in Sublette County and that he faces counts of third-degree sexual assault and indecent liberties with a child in Natrona County.

It is alleged that the sexual relationship between Jeter and the girl began in October 2004 and ended in February 2007. The alleged sexual activity between Jeter and the girl in Natrona County is said to have taken place in in 2006 and 2007 when Jeter and the student were in Casper, Wyoming for school activities.

Allegedly in March Jeter admitted to investigators that he had sex with the girl and that he gave her a Valentine’s Day card and money in January.

Reportedly Jeter came to the attention of authorities when another student reported seeing Jeter and the girl kiss during school hours and in a school facility.

Jeter who is free on bond is scheduled for trial in Sublette County in November.

04/23/08 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Shawn Jeter has pleaded guilty in Natrona County District Court to charges of third-degree sexual assault and indecent liberties with a minor.

Jeter has been sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison. The sentence will run concurrent with an additional 15 to 20 years in prison handed down in Sublette and Converse counties in cases involving the same victim.
