Todd M. Strang, 36, of Shullsburg, Wisconsin and a high school teacher in Lafayette County has been charged with two felony counts of having sex with a student over the age of 16 while he was employed at the school where the student attended.

The charges against Strang allege that he engaged in sexual activity with the student during the years 2000 and 2001 when the student was a junior and a senior in the as yet unidentified high school.

The charges are the result of an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation and attorneys from the Wisconsin Department of Justice are acting as special prosecutors in the case.

If convicted, Strang could face up to 10 years in prison on each count.

Strang is currently free on $10,000 bond with his next court date set for December 16th.

05/27/09 – Guilty Plea

Todd Strang has reportedly pleaded guilty to two felony counts of sexual assault of a student by a teacher.

Strang faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine at sentencing.

The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set Strang’s sentencing hearing for August 24th.

09/14/09 – Sentencing

Todd Strang has reportedly been sentenced to eight months in the county jail to be followed by five years probation.

Reportedly Strang will be required to register as a sex offender.

Todd R. Paaske, 32, a former music and band teacher at Underwood Elementary School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin has reportedly been arrested on allegations involving two teenage girls.

Last week Paaske was arrested on allegations of fondling a babysitter after the teenage girl told investigators that Paaske indecently touched her while his wife and a son were out of the house.

The more recent charges against Paaske are the result of allegations that he enticed a 17-year-old female co-worker at an ice rink where he worked part-time, that he showed pictures of a partially nude female to the alleged victim and that he engaged in conversations and text messages in which he allegedly commented upon the girl’s body, her cleavage and asked her to come to his residence and drink.

Todd Paaske has reportedly been charged with child enticement, exposing a child to harmful material and exposing a child to harmful descriptions.

In the criminal complaint against Todd Paaske, it is alleged that he told police that he touched the babysitter inappropriately, that he exposed himself over the Internet to the babysitter and that he might have shown a topless picture to the second girl, whom he worked with at an ice rink.

Paaske came to the attention of authorities when Paaske’s wife allegedly found computer screen shots that showed sexually explicit chats with two teenage girls.

A school system spokesperson has indicated that Paaske was under a one-year contract with the Wauwatosa School District and that expired at the end of the 2008-2009 school year.

According to the school district web site, Paaske was the director of Bands at Kewaskum High School for three years prior to coming to the Wauwatosa School District.

Jamie S. Dutcher, 32, a former technology support technician at Milton High School in Milton, Wisconsin has, in a plea deal with prosecutors, pleaded to one felony charge of sexual assault of a student by school staff, four misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dismissed three felony charges of sexual assault of a student by school staff and four felony charges of child enticement.

Dutcher was sentenced to six months in jail and four years probation.

Dutcher came to the attention of authorities when police discovered Dutcher and the girl in the back seat of a car parked behind the Holiday Inn Express in Janesville.

Dutcher, who reportedly is married and has children, resigned from his job at the school in the wake of his arrest earlier this year.
