Daniel Scott Markofski, 47, the principal of Spring Grove Elementary School in Spring Grove, Illinois has been arrested and charged with two counts of exposing a child to harmful material and sexual intercourse with a child age 16 or older.

Markofski allegedly took two teenage girls to a Wisconsin motel for pornographic movies, marijuana, cognac and sex over the weekend. It is further alleged that Markofski had sex with the 16-year-old while the 15-year-old was in the room.

Police say that Markofski accompanied by 15- and 16-year-old Wisconsin girls, ordered a porn movie after entering the Glendale, Wisconsin motel room. Authorities said the principal also provided wine coolers, marijuana and cognac to the girls who are reportedly from the Milwaukee area, rather than the Chicago-Spring Grove area.

It is alleged that Markofski met the 16-year-old girl through a phone chat line. Reportedly the 15-year-old is her cousin.

Markofski came to the attention of authorities when a Glendale, Wisconsin police officer on a routine community patrol was walking through the motel when he smelled marijuana coming from a room. When the officer entered the room he allegedly found a a boxer shorts-clad Markofski, the two girls and a porno playing loudly on the television.

Markofski was being held on $20,000 bond at the Milwaukee County Jail.

04/18/08 - Court Appearance

Daniel Markofski made a court appearance today and pleaded not guilty.

Markofski is free on $5,000 bond.

Nippersink District 2 school board fired Markofski on Tuesday.

09/16/08 - Guilty Plea

Daniel Markofski has pleaded guilty to two counts of exposing a child to harmful material and one of committing a sex act with a child 16 or older.

Sentencing is set for October 29th.

Gilberto Brown, 54, assistant principal at Lincoln Avenue School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has been charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

The criminal complaint against Brown indicates that the alleged victim, who is now 18, claims he was repeatedly sexually assaulted when he spent nights at Brown’s Milwaukee apartment.

It is alleged that sexual contact between Brown and the boy started when the boy was 14 years old and the alleged victim has told investigators that after he began spending the night with Brown, he would wake up to find his pants pulled down and Brown touching him inappropriately.

Milwaukee Public Schools is alerting families at Lincoln Avenue School of the allegations against Brown and indicate there is no information that any former or current student has been victimized.

Following his arrest Gilberto Brown was placed on paid administrative leave by the school system.

Following his arrest Brown was held in lieu of $30,000 bond.

Kelly M. Sweet, 26, an 8th grade math teacher at Deer Creek Intermediate School in St. Francis, Wisconsin has entered a not guilty plea to allegations that she sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy.

It is alleged that earlier this month Sweet and the boy were watching a movie in her apartment and that she was lying on the sofa with her head on his lap. It is further alleged that she then began kissing and sexually touching him.

Sweet’s next court appearance is currently set for April 3.

08/26/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Kelly Sweet pleaded guilty today to fourth-degree sexual assault, is a misdemeanor, as part of a plea deal that saw the prosecution drop a charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child, a felony with a potential sentence of 40 years in prison.

As part of the plea deal Sweet will serve 25 days in jail and placed on two years of probation. Sweet permanently relinquished her Wisconsin teaching license.

She must register as a sex offender during the period of her probation.

Daniel R. Callan, 25, a 5th grade teacher at St. Bernadette School in Appleton, Wisconsin has been arrested on allegations that he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old male student.

Callan has been initially charged with 1st degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of exposing himself and one count of causing a child to view sexual activity. Police are continuing to investigate, saying there may be additional victims.

The prosecution says that Callan used conversations about sex in the classroom to groom one of his pupils for sexual encounters. It is alleged that when one boy said he didn’t know what sex was, Callan met with the boy on several occasions after class and showed him photos in a book about sexual topic. Prosecutors also say that Callan exposed himself to the boy, accompanied the boy to the bathroom, exposed himself, had the boy expose himself, and showed the boy how to masturbate.

Following his arrest Callan was initially held on $15,000 bond. He bonded out of jail Wednesday night.

Callan has reportedly now been suspended by the school administration although WBAY TV is reporting that Callan was allowed to continue teaching ever after the school administration became aware that he was under investigation.

A school spokesperson said the district was following the police department’s lead so detectives could do their investigation.

05/13/08 - Callan Also Taught At in Appleton and Menasha Schools

Reportedly Daniel Callan taught remedial reading and math at Ferber School in 2005 and team-taught woodworking at Janet Berry School in 2006 and 2007.

Callan had been a substitute teacher in all of the Menasha district’s five elementary schools during the 2005-06 school year.

05/29/08 - Daniel Callan To Face Trial

An investigator testifying at a preliminary hearing for Daniel Callan today said that Callan admitted to sexually assaulting a student.

Police say at first Callan was evasive but then, after more questioning, admitted to exposing himself and inappropriately touching his ten-year-old student.

The judge held that sufficient evidence was presented to go forward to trial.

Callan’s next court date will be in July.

08/13/08 - Not Guilty Plea

Daniel R. Callan made a court appearance on Wednesday and entered a not guilty plea to two counts of indecent exposure, one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of causing a child to view sexual activity.

Callan is scheduled for trial in November.

Michael C. Sprinkel a social studies teacher and head coach of the varsity softball team at Brookfield East High School in Brookfield, Wisconsin has been arrested an Internet sex sting.

It is alleged that Sprinkel exposed himself using a Web cam while he thought he was chatting on the Internet with a 15-year-old girl when he actually was communicating with Detective Robert McGraw of the Kenner, Louisiana, Police Department.

Following his arrest Sprinkel was released on $15,000 bail and was ordered to stay away from under-aged females.

He faces extradition to Louisiana to stand charges of computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes, indecent behavior with juveniles and pornography involving juveniles.

04/17/08 - Going to Louisiana

According to his attorney, Michael Sprinkel will be going to Louisiana on April 28 to answer the charges.

Sprinkel has an extradition hearing scheduled May 9 in Waukesha County Circuit Court.

04/28/08 - Sprinkel Surrenders in Louisiana

Michael C. Sprinkel surrendered at the Kenner jail and was booked on four counts of computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes, four counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and one count of pornography involving juveniles.

07/22/08 - Contract Terminated

Elmbrook School Board has terminated the contract of Michael Sprinkel, who reportedly chose not to fight the dismissal or attend the board meeting.

Sprinkel’s next court date is August 7th.
