Eric Toth, 26, a former third-grade teacher at Beauvoir Elementary School on the grounds of Washington National Cathedral is being sought by authorities on a federal charge of possessing child pornography.

Toth came to the attention of authorities in June, when another teacher at the school allegedly found explicit photographs of at least one boy on a school camera in Toth’s possession. A school spokesperson indicated that at that time that Toth was escorted off the cathedral grounds and the camera was given to authorities.

Eric Toth has been missing since June and authorities have obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Reportedly Toth’s car was found in August at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and a spokesperson for the D.C. police department says that a note in the car indicated that Toth planned to kill himself in a nearby lake, but no body was found.

Police have declined to say how many images were on the camera or how many boys had been photographed. Also there has been no official word on whether the pictures had been taken at the school, elsewhere or both.

It is reported that before he came under investigation, Toth had informed the school that he planned to leave the school when the 2007-08 academic year ended June 9.

11/22/08 – Eric Toth Featured On America’s Most Wanted

Eric Toth has been featured on “America’s Most Wanted”.

Apparently Toth is still on the run.

The FBI tracked Toth from Washington D.C. to Indianapolis, Indiana to Madison, Wisconsin and from there to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport where Toth abandoned his car and from there the FBI has lost track of him.

10/13/09 – FBI Still Seeking Eric Justin Toth

Eric Toth is still on the run and the FBI is still seeking him.

Earlier this year, Toth was reportedly living and working in Arizona.

The FBI indicates that Toth should be considered dangerous and may be suicidal. The FBI asks that anyone with information on Toth contact their local FBI office or the nearest American embassy or consulate.

Ricardo Antonio Cuaderes, 57, a teacher at Young America Works, a public charter vocational high school, in Washington, DC has been arrested on allegations of bringing a 14-year-old male student to his home in Ellicott City, Maryland and sexually abusing him.

Reportedly Cuaderes is charged with one count of child sexual abuse, three counts of second-degree sex offenses and two counts of third-degree sex offenses.

Cuaderes came to the attention of authorities when the alleged victim contacted police.

Following his arrest, Cuaderes was reportedly being held in the Howard County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.

09/14/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Ricardo Antonio Cuaderes has, in a plea deal with prosecutors, pleaded guilty to child sexual abuse.

The judge ordered Cuaderes to spend 18 months in jail.

Without the plea deal, he had been facing a maximum of 25 years in prison if convicted.

Cuaderes will reportedly be required to undergo mental health and sex offender treatment and register as a child sex offender.
