Andres Enrique Cantu, 55, a computer lab aide at Lamar Academy, an alternative high school in McAllen, Texas, has been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting two girls, 9 and 10-years-old.

Andres Enrique Cantu

It is alleged that for as long as four years that Cantu sexually abused the girls in their bedrooms while they slept or did their homework.

Cantu came to the attention of authorities when the 9-year-old girl’s plea to Santa, written as a school assignment, launched the investigation and led to the first charge of continuous sexual abuse which was filed last week. Cantu has been charged once again with continuous sexual abuse of the second victim.

Reportedly court documents describe the girl’s letter to Santa as “a wish list to Santa” asking that the girl’s relative stop touching her and her sister.

The girl submitted the letter to Santa as an assignment at Cesar Chavez Elementary School in Pharr, Texas on Thursday. The teacher told a school counselor of the letter and the counselor reportedly notified police.

During Cantu’s arraignment on Tuesday his bond was set at $250,000. His bond for the previous charge was set at $100,000.

Cantu is being held at the Hidalgo County Detention Center.
