Clarence Mumford, 57, a counselor at Hillcrest High School in Memphis, Tennessee has reportedly been arrested on allegations that he fondled a female student.
Reportedly, Mumford has been charged with sexually battery and sexual solicitation of a minor student.
It is alleged that on August 8th that Mumford met the girl away from the school to bring her GED papers.
It is further alleged that as the student sat in Mumford’s car that Mumford put his hand between her legs.
The alleged victim also reportedly told detectives that Mumford had in the past offered to pay her for oral sex.
The mother of the alleged victim claims Mumford told her if he could date her daughter, he would buy clothes for her siblings.
Memphis City School officials says Clarence Mumford has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the legal process.
Mumford was released over the weekend after posting a $50,000 bond.

William Joseph Seagroves, 34, a former math teacher and assistant track coach at Sullivan Central High School in Blountville, Tennessee has reportedly been indicted on a charge of sexual battery by an authority figure.
The indictment alleges that Seagroves engaged in criminal sexual contact with a 16-year-old female student on May 23, 2008.
Seagroves came to the attention of authorities in October of last year when the alleged victim filed a complaint with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
Seagroves was arrested on April 13th, after the Sullivan County Grand Jury returned a sealed indictment. He was reportedly released on $30,000 bond the same day.
Seagroves, who previously had been a chemical engineer at Nuclear Fuel Services in Erwin, became a math teacher and assistant track coach in January 2006 as part of a state program to bring professionals from other disciplines into the classroom.
Reportedly, Seagroves resigned shortly after the alleged victim’s complaint in October.

James “Jim” Tucker, 47, band director at Summertown High School in Summertown, Tennessee has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sex with a 15-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Tucker was arrested Wednesday morning on a charge of sexual misconduct by an authority figure.
Tucker came to the attention of police by way of a report to the school resource officer who reportedly heard “rumors” of an improper relationship between Tucker and the alleged victim.
Reportedly, Tucker remains in custody at the Lawrence County jail. One report indicates he is being held without bond, another report indicates he had had no bond set while a third report indicates that he is held in lieu of $100,000 bond .
Tucker who has a court appearance set for Monday has reportedly been suspended without pay by the school system.
Reportedly, Tucker had been working for the Lawrence County School System since August and prior to that spent 22 years teaching in the Maury County School System.
02/18/10 – Jim Tucker Jailed
Jim Tucker is back in jail after allegedly violating a no-contact order with a 16 year old student.
General Sessions Judge Patricia McGuire revoked his bond and Tucker reportedly surrendered to authorities.

Amy Elizabeth Kennedy, 42, a former teacher’s aide at Greenback School in Greenback, Tennessee has reportedly been arrested on allegations of a sexual relationship with a then 16-year-old male student.
Reportedly, Kennedy is charged with statutory rape by an authority figure.
According to a Blount County Sheriff’s Office report, the alleged victim in the case told investigators that a sexual encounter with Kennedy took place at a Blount County business.
Kennedy was arrested at a Johnson City residence on Wednesday and brought back to Blount County where she was charged.
Following her arrest, Kennedy was released on $50,000 bond.
Kennedy is due back in court for a hearing on June 21st.
Reportedly, Kennedy was previously investigated in December 2009 after allegations she had a relationship with at least two high school students at Greenback School. That case was taken to a Loudon County grand jury, but an indictment was not returned.

Jonathon Doyle Mann, 22, a drumline instructor at Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, Tennessee has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female student.
Reportedly, Mann has been charged with two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and one count of sexual battery by an authority figure.
It is alleged that Mann and the student began a sexual relationship last summer. The alleged sexual encounters are said to have taken place in the school’s parking lot and hallways after hours.
Reportedly, the statutory rape charges involve alleged sexual activities in Mann’s apartment.
It is alleged that Mann admitted to the relationship with the teen during a secretly recorded phone call but later denied it to police.

Heather A. Pratt, 29, a special education teaching assistant at Carter High School in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee has reportedly been under investigation on allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Heather A. Pratt, 29, has been on administrative leave with pay since Nov. 30, pending the outcome of an investigation
Reportedly, Pratt has been an employee of the Knox County school system since September 2008 and has previously worked as a substitute and in the food services department.
Pratt came to the attention of authorities when allegations were made to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, which in turn notified the school system.
05/07/10 – Guilty Plea
Reportedly, Heaather Pratt has pleaded guilty to a charge of statutory rape.
Pratt was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and mandatory sex offender counseling.
Pratt submitted a brief handwritten resignation letter dated April 30 to Knox County school system officials.
